The Foresters started the brighter of the two teams having plenty of possession in the opening 10 minutes of the match. The Foresters were taking the game to the visitors and making the most of their midfield dominance setting up several well worked moves down the left hand side involving Credland and Pickett. Three Bridges played some good football in places although the tireless pressing of Foresters along with some impressive and composed possession was starting to take its toll on the visitors. On fifteen minutes the deadlock was broken when a fine move through midfield found Bonsall who superbly rounded the keeper to take the Foresters into a much deserved lead. As the game headed towards half time Bridges attempts to get back into the match were kept at bay by the committed defending of Anderberg and Benton at the back to ensure a Foresters half time lead. After the restart the match continued in much the same vein with Foresters enjoying the majority of the possession and to frustrate the away side further the Foresters went another goal up after a precise quick move found Payne in space who calmly converted the finish to take Foresters into a 2 – 0 lead. Bridges tried to fashion a fight back but Foresters remained largely in control to see out the match and take all the points.
