Tulse Hill started the better of the two teams having plenty of the possession in the opening exchanges of the match with Foresters struggling to get any real foot hold on the game. The visitors, who were enjoying plenty of the ball worked several good attacks down the right hand wing but without any real reward for their efforts and largely due to some frantic rear guard defending from the Foresters back four. On 18 minutes Tulse Hill were awarded a penalty after a good attack down the middle resulted in blatant foul. The resulting penalty duly converted meant the visitors went into a well deserved 1-0 lead at the break. The half time team talk must have done the trick as the Foresters started with a greater purpose and pressed the visiting team with greater urgency. The Foresters now enjoying more of the ball started to work several good attacking moves through Pepper, Bonsall Mantle, Dumas and Scott. The increased Foresters dominance was starting to take it’s toll on the visitors and on 31 minutes a fine cross from Horlock was matched by a great half volley from Pepper who’s shot hit the cross bar only for Mantle to convert the rebound to level the score. The final 10 minutes was frantic with the visitors hanging on and Foresters forcing the play looking to win the match but despite the homes side dominance, two goal line clearances and a host of good saves from the visiting keeper the score remained level. With the last 30 second remaining a Foresters throw in from the right managed to find Bonsall in space and his clever over head kick looped over the helpless Tulse Hill keeper to secure all the points and keep Foresters top of the table.
