The Tunbridge Wells Foresters under 9’s Tandridge Spartak team played away this weekend in a local derby against Foresters Mustangs. The game ended in a 9-0 victory for Spartak.
Foresters Mustangs were the first to settle and enjoyed all of the early possession but Spartak opened the scoring with a own goal following a cross from Joseph Pickett. The game was evenly matched and Luca Caria made two excellent saves to keep Spartak’s lead intact. As the half went on Spartak got into their stride and began playing some good football but missed several good opportunities to extend their lead, but on the stroke of half-time Luke Credland scored from a tight angle so at half-time the scoreline was 2-0 to Spartak.
In the second half Spartak scored almost immediately when Matthew Horlock set up Luke Credland to score. Johnny Phillips then set up Robert Lawrence for the fourth goal. Foresters were now dominating the play and added a fifth when Luke Credland set up Johnny Phillips. Johnny Phillips added the sixth goal following a cross from Fraser Abbott. Moments later the same pair combined to make it 7-0 and give Johnny Phillips his hat-trick. Ollie Plunkett crossed for Johnny Phillips to score the eighth goal of the game. And in the last minute Ollie Plunkett again supplied the cross for Johnny Phillips to get the final goal of the game and his fifth of the day. Well done to the defence of Luke Credland, Josh Williams and Robert Lawrence and Luca Caria for keeping a clean sheet especially in the first half when Mustangs were pressing to get back into the game.
The boys once again put in a good performance and played some excellent football especially in the second half.
The squad for the match was as follows:-
L.Caira, L.Credland, F.Abbott, M.Horlock, O.Plunkett, J.Phillips, J.Pickett, ,R.Lawrence, J.Williams .
