The Foresters travelled to Beckenham to face the current league leaders in this Tandridge League A Division match. The Foresters started brightly and dominated possession in the early minutes of the match. On seven minutes a good Foresters move from the right wing resulted in a direct free kick being awarded after Pickett was brought down 18 yards from goal. Pickett took charge of the resulting free kick; his superb strike finding the top of the net with the keeper stranded it was 1-0 to Foresters. The Foresters continued their dominance looking strong at the back and creative and solid throughout midfield with Bonsall and Pepper looking lively up front. On twenty minutes a fine stop from the Elite keeper stopped Foresters adding to their lead through Bonsall. Elite not managing a single shot on goal in the first half went in behind at the break. After the break the Foresters seemed to remain in charge continuing where they’d left off and rarely being threatened by the home side. With the home side looking well short of ideas the Foresters went further ahead on thirty five minutes when Abbott’s superb half volley nestled in the bottom right hand corner of the Elite net. The Foresters managed to stay in charge and could have added further goals but were denied by the keeper.
