The Tunbridge Wells Foresters under 9s Tandridge Spartak team played at home on Sunday 26th Sept. The game ended in a 2-1 defeat for the home side.
Foresters enjoyed the majority of the early possession and missed several good opportunities to take the lead, however the home team fell behind in the 10th minute somewhat against the run of play. To their credit the boys did not let this set back affect them and they drew level with a fine solo goal from Erik Anderberg so at half-time the scoreline was 1-1.
In the second half the Under 9’s continued to pass the ball around but they couldn’t find the breakthrough and Whyteleafe came back into the game and took the lead with 12 minutes remaining. However, Foresters continued to create chances but they could not bet the goalkeeper who made several good saves at the end, that could have produced a equaliser.
The boys played some fantastic football in the first half and were unfortunate not to get a result in a evenly contested game against a strong Whyteleafe side.
The squad for the match was as follows:-
L.Caira, L.Credland, F.Abbott, M.Horlock, O.Plunkett, J.Pickett, ,R.Lawrence, J.Williams and Erik Anderberg.
