The Tunbridge Wells Foresters under 8’s Tandridge Blue team played their first league game of the season at the Neville Upper Cricket Pitch on Sunday. The game ended in a 3-1 win for Foresters. Foresters had the majority of the early possession but Eversley defended well and Foresters missed several good opportunities to open the scoring, however the deadlock was finally broken when following a goalmouth scramble Johnny Phillips shot past the goalkeeper into the net. The lead however was short lived as almost immediately Eversley broke away and scored the equaliser meaning the sides went in all square at half time. In the second half the Under 8’s continued to pass the ball around and made good use of the large pitch they continued to create chances but they could not beat the Eversley Goalkeeper who made some exceptional saves to keep his team in the game. Foresters finally got the second goal when a well worked move ended with Joe Pickett firing in from outside the box. With the match entering the final stages and following some good passing play Luca Nwanosike added the third goal which finally sealed victory for Foresters. Well done to the boys on a good result and for playing some excellent football during the course of the game. The squad for the match was as follows:- L.Caira, E.Anderberg, J.Phillips, J.Williams, M.Horlock, O.Plunkett, J.Pickett, ,R.Lawrence and L.Nwanosike. Finally thank you to everybody who came along and supported both sides.
