Sunday 25th January Under 8's v Eversley Rangers FC
The Tunbridge Wells Foresters under 8’s Tandridge team travelled to play away at Eversley Rangers on Sunday. The game ended in a 4-2 win for Foresters.
Foresters started the game strongly and had the majority of the early possession and the deadlock was broken in the fourth minute when following a through ball Johnny Phillips shot past the goalkeeper into the net. The lead was doubled on 7 minutes when following a fine passing move Fraser Abbott crossed for Joseph Pickett to score from close range. However straight from the kick-off Eversley reduced the deficit with a long range goal following a corner. There was plenty of goalmouth action upto the break but no more goals were scored and at half-time the score was 2-1 to Foresters.
In the second half the Under 8’s continued to pass the ball around and they continued to create chances. The boys extended their lead four minutes into the second half when Johnny crossed for Erik Anderberg to fire in from outside the box. Once again Eversley reduced the arrears from a goal direct from a free-kick. With the match entering the final stages and following some good passing play Fraser Abbott added the fourth goal which finally sealed victory for Foresters.
Well done to the boys on grinding out a result and for playing some excellent football in difficult underfoot conditions.
The squad for the match was as follows:-
L.Caira, E.Anderberg, J.Phillips, F.Abbott, M.Horlock, O.Plunkett, J.Pickett, ,R.Lawrence and L.Nwanosike.
