The match started at a blistering pace with both teams not letting the other settle on the ball. On the 11th minute an over hit back pass by a Foresters defender gave the outstanding goalkeeper Caira no chance to control. The Whyteleafe forward pounced on the loss ball and Cooley slotted home to put the visitors one up.
Foresters then started to find their form and on 20 minutes a great cross from Benton was flicked on by Bonsall for the on running Barclay to fire home. The rest of the half saw Foresters create a several more chance but both teams went in equal at half time.
The 2nd half started with Foresters on the front foot. Credland, Anderberg, Benton and Robinson were solid at the back which made it hard for Whyteleafe to create any real chances. On 37 minutes after a great period of play for Foresters Roache-Whitechurch was put through on goal, a clumsy challenge gave the ref no other decision but to award a penalty which Pickett duly dispatched to make it 2-1 to Foresters. Foresters then created several more chances but couldn't add to the score line.
