Secretarys Report:
Mary Dendy's Luke Watkin puts pressure on the SandbachTown defence
At Mary Dendy Fields , Mary Dendy took on Sandbach Town , the league leaders from the Crewe & District League. A focused Sandbach got off to a flyer scoring through Fraser Keena inside 34 seconds but Dendy were level seven minutes later when Matty Morris powered into the penalty area to fire home the equaliser. The visitors took the lead again on the half hour with Keena again involved controlling the ball with his chest and volleying powerfully into the net for his second goal of the game . Again Dendy came back though as Martin Brunker was first to react when Rob Pierpoint’s fizzing shot crashed off the cross bar and ran loose. With both sides evenly matched it was going to be a momentary lapse of concentration that decided the game as it seemed to heading for extra time. Unfortunately for Dendy it was goalkeeper Ryan Fallon with only four minutes of normal time remaining. Fallon had made several excellent saves to keep his team in the game but he badly misjudged a lofted free kick and could only parry the ball to Anthony Evans who gratefully poked the ball home. Dendy tried to press for the equaliser but Sandbach scored again to seal the tie three minutes into stoppage time. A long punt upfield by Simon Hilton running all the way through to Colin Hemmings who poked the ball home.

Sandbach Town's Martin Farrell gets to grips with Mary Dendy's Simon Lee
Managers Report:
After going 1-0 behind after only 1 minute, the dendy boys showed great character to comeback twice in the first half to make it 2-2 at the break. MOTM James Monghan put in Matty Morris who finished superbly for the first & a fine strike by Rob Pierpoint that crashed against the bar was followed up by the in form Martin Brunker. Chances were spurned at both ends in the second half and the next goal was always going to win the game. After a fine string of point blank saves by Ryan Fallon something had to give & Sandbach capitalised on 1 error very late on in the game when a harmless freekick was fumbled. Once behind Dendy pushed for the equaliser but were caught on the break to make the game safe for Sandbach. Alot of positives to take from this game & one more cup comp left for Dendy to make a mark this season & put a run together.
