This was truly a game of two halves with Old Alts East dominating possession in the  first period with Andy Masey, Tom Noon and Steve Wood causing Dendy real problems .

The visitors deservedly went in at the break 1-0 up thanks to a deflected Tom Noon shot on nineteen minutes and  should perhaps have been further ahead but the woodwork intervened. Dendy looked a shadow of the team that had defeated Poynton  but some home truths by manager Paul Cronshaw  at half time somehow galvanized their spirit and barely a minute into the second half Simon Lee let fly from twenty five yards and Dendy were level. Four goals in a twelve minute spell then turned the game on its head . Tom Noon heads clear for Old Alts East Lee Wilkinson made it 2-1 on fifty eight minutes  with a  rather fortuitous goal  but barely a minute later the visitors drew level as Steve Wood put Matty Martin under pressure and his attempted clearance slipped under stand-in goalkeeper Chris Shepherd and into the net. Martin made amends minutes later  though as twice he hoisted huge throws into the penalty area which ended in goals , both for Martin Brunker , the  first an unstoppable sweep from Matt Morris near post flick on.

Brunker returned the favour for Morris with a minute remaining as he turned provider , hoisting a free kick into the penalty area which Morris headed home unmarked at the far post. A special mention to referee Nick Jennison who coped well in his first ever ECL game.
