MARY DENDY O BARNTON WANDERERS 7
HALF TIME 0-2
How not to be critical. Sorry its too hard not to be honest.
All the per season promise was blown away by a good Barnton side who were better at everything. They were fitter, quicker, more committed and more skilful. It didn't help that it was hard to pick any Dendy player who played anywhere near their normal standard. Only time and results will tell if Barnton were very good or Dendy made them look good.
After only 3 mins Barnton scored a typical sunday league goal over the top for the Barnton player to latch onto and put away. The rest of the first half a slow paced Dendy managed to stay in the game with a great save from Hammas who put himself up for keeper while Perry is injured. Unfortunately Dendy couldn't hang on to half time as failing to clear led to Barnton going into the half time break 2-0 up.
HALF TIME 0-2
The second half was a disaster with the third going in after only 2 minutes of the second half. Dendy looked toothless up front and Barnton sensed this and became more and more confident as the game went on. Nice football skills and a direct style from Barnton led to 4-0 after 50 mins. Dendy struggled on but looked more out classed as the game went on. Not helped by some strange selection and sub choices. The 5th a freekick going straight through the wall at 70 mins and i was just wondering how many it will finish. Dendy did manage a small passage of the game before Barnton punished a tiring disheartened Dendy with a goal on the 78 and 83rd minute. The game finished 7-0, Dendy were soundly beaten.

I felt as bad today i think as i have ever felt watching Mary Dendy.
I don't know if it was the preseason promise. The fact we were so badly beaten with no excuse of lack of players to choose from.
Beef and Curbo are too alike to play against quick teams. A fact Adam picked up on and went into the back. A formation that has worked in the past. One header and one quick centre half.
We looked so toothless as an attacking unit. It was obvious we badly missed Scott up front. He is getting better everytime i see him play. But even he will need service. I was worried at some of the choices again today. All that said it is game one. Hopefully a bad day at the office.
