MARY DENDY SHOCK SANDBACH CURSHAWS COMING FROM THREE NIL DOWN TO WIN CUP GAME.
TOMMY WAKE 6 goal Dendy hero.
SANDACH CURSHAWS 5 MARY DENDY 7
What can i say another classic. I thought the narrow 2-1 defeat to Crewe FC RES was a great game but this game was even better. A goal fest and a great come back. To be honest one i didn't see coming when 3-0 down.
The game started even enough with a very strong Dendy team more then held its own against a team who as usual for them got the ball forward quickly either over the top or through the gaps for the very quick Sandbach number 14 to feed off.
It was this pace that was to punish Dendy after 15 mins as Ian lacked the pace to catch the ball and Perry in the Dendy net didn't get out to it. I think Perry slipped and the ball was put into the net comfortably. Then came Dendy on self destruct as over playing at the back brought on a carbon copy of the goal that beat us in the last came. A stolen ball as the defence passed it across only to be stolen and converted on the 24 minute mark. I couldn't believe they hadn't learnt from the last game. To make matters worse a blind cross pass in midfield was again intercepted by a greatful SANDBACH player and Dendy were 3-0 down. All three goals being self inflicted which made it hard to watch from the sidelines.
I was starting to see a large defeat in my mind. I said to stand in manager Bails next goal is huge if they get it its over. Thankfully it was Dendy who scored that goal on 35 minutes and that gave them a glimmer of light and much to our delight another goal from Tom on the 38th minute and they were back in the game.
H.T 3-2
After a half time talk which seemed to kick start the Dendy players who are much better then the half had shown, Dendy game out of the blocks running scoring on 47 55 56 minutes to take the lead and Sandbach who must have thought the game was won shaken. Dendy who had adopted the Sandbach tactic to get the ball forward quicker and also started to cut out the mistakes and read Sandbach's one dimension quick over the top or through ball.
Game on and the shock of a surprise come back was possible.
Dendy scored again on the 58 mins to make it 6-4 in their favour and even though Sandbach still looked dangerous on the attack things looked good. Sandbach were getting on each others backs as Dendy became more aware of the win which seemed to make every player put in a 100 percent. Sandbach were to make the last 13 mins tight with a goal on 77 mins. Both sides were going for goals but thankfully the only one came in the 90th minute as Dendy broke and scored to put the icing on the cake and take an excellent cup win.
Final score 5-7

Tommy Wake my man of the match scored six says it all. Sadly sometimes for Tom people expect him to be as good as he was today.
Second half fight back and effort shown my all but Spruce for me stuck out as he had the best 45 mins i have seen from him. Sometimes i think he is a luxury player a little like my fav MATA but today he showed he has an engine and desire when not beating himself up.
A great team performance from a strong squad. It is hard to pick fault with anyone today.
Nice to see no nonsense Scott back from injury. He is my type of defender.
Good to see good passing although it has been costly at times.
Minus points
Poor mistakes at the back again. Which was disappointing as the last two weeks good defence has been let down by the odd moment of error.
Too many players turning up hoping to get game time but don't.It's not their fault so they should have an idea if they are not getting a game. Otherwise one week we will turn up and not have enough because squad players haven't turned up as they think not getting a game and regular players can't play.
Bails did the right thing as Sheps stand in and picked what he thought was the best starting 11 for the day. Taking in to account ability first, availability weekly and length of Dendy service in that order. Everyone will have their own idea of who should or shouldn't be in that 11. Like Bails said he doesn't want to upset people but we need to be competitive if we are to keep or attract decent players who can compete in a strong league. At the moment we have the strongest squad of players i have seen at Dendy. Yesterday no little Adam ,Cronie Jack and bails injured. Danny Vicks London and Tommy Vicks working but we still had plenty of quality to choose from.
Pub after was the Foresters in Winterly who gave us chips sausages bread and butter. I enjoyed the food and i think the players enjoyed the after game banter.
Man of the match was tough and was won by Ant in a spread vote.
Donkey was poor Bails for his prematch injury.
Highlight had to be six goals from Tom Wake.
