Mary Dendy and Old Alts A played out a turgid first half hour at Crosford Bridge but then ten minutes before half time the game sprang to life. Dendy striker Matty Morris dispossessed an Old Alts defender on the edge of the penalty box and some how managed to hook the ball home over the despairing dive of keeper Dale Peters to give the visitors the lead but three minutes later Alts were level . Simon Sidderley ‘s free kick wide on the right was headed home by man of the match Dean Duigan. Dean Duigan heads home Old Alts equaliser As half time approached Martin Brunker sent Luke Watkin clear down the right to run at the Alts defence and his pinpoint cross found Matty Morris who scored his second. Still the action continued and Dendy scored a third in first half stoppage time , Luke Watkin looping a shot high over the keeper and in off the far post . It was a killer blow for Alts who thought they had got back into the game. They got their chance however on 58 minutes when referee Oliver Nolan awarded a penalty kick after he spotted a handball. Duigan stepped up to score his second goal of the game sending Dendy Keeper Rob Tilley the wrong way. Both sides had chances to score again in a much livelier second half but some wayward finishing and some fine saves from Dale Peters meant the score stayed at 3-2 A mention for rooky referee Oliver Nolan who looks a really promising prospect in the middle and belied his years with a really commanding game.
