Boarhound stayed on course to retain their title with a comfortable 5-1 win against Mary Dendy but it was the visitors who can take pride in the manner in which they conducted themselves. Boarhound's Dave Short traps the ball under pressure from Nick Brunker Starting with only ten fit players Dendy struggled under intense pressure from Boarhound in the opening stages but veteran Chris Shepherd was outstanding in goal and produced a string of quality saves including a wonderful double save from Simon Gibbon’s well struck penalty to deny Boarhound the lead . It took a touch of class from Stuart Ainsworth to finally break the deadlock as his delightful chip from twenty yards finally beat Shepherd. Shepherd again denied Boarhound , this time diving low to save a goal bound header from Jamie Collins but barely a minute later Nathan Hulley doubled Boarhound’s lead . Simon Gibbons dispossessed Nick Brunker on the edge of Dendy’s area to grab a third but Dendy threatened on the break away and Andy Currie and Paul Richardson both had chances. Simon Lee shields the ball from Stuart Ainsworth Four minutes into the second half and Dendy did score. Once again a well rehearsed set piece at a corner bore fruit as Martin Brunker swung in a corner for his brother Nick to arrive late and head powerfully past Anthony Connolly. Boarhound were rattled but were never in danger of losing the game . Nathan Hulley added a fourth ten minutes into the second half and Matty Roberts shot through a crowd of players from outside the penalty area to complete the scoring.
