Old Alts were unlucky not to take something away from their clash with Mary Dendy but headed goals in each half from Danny Vickers and Dean Jones were their undoing. Alts defended solidly with Norman Crowther and Nathan French keeping chances for the home side at a bare minimum but Dendy broke the deadlock midway through the half when captain Ian Wood swung in a corner and Danny Vickers headed back across keeper Rob Richards as he failed to claim the ball. Alts had chances to get back in the game but resolute Dendy defending particularly from Martin Brunker and Nick Pearce kept them out.
A diving header from Dean Jones on his debut gave Dendy a crucial two goal cushion with twenty minutes remaining and they closed out the game to progress into the next round.

DENDY back to winnings ways with 2-0 cup win against OLD ALTS.
Dendy were back to winning ways today against a mature hard working OLD ALTS team who were themselves trying to improve on a tough season.
Old Alts started the better and were pressing Dendy as soon as they got the ball. Dendy hardly got out of their half in the first 20 mins. Against the run of play a corner from Dendy and an umarke...d Dan Vickers who again played the lone striker headed across the goal unmarked into the net to make it 0ne nil at half time.
The second half was the same with OLD ALTS failing to get the goal they needed to get back into the game having a goal disallowed and another chance was cleared off the line by Wakey.
It was Dendy who were to score gain with another headed from a cross breaking the off side trap. As much as they tried it wasn't to be OLD ALTS day as again Dendy kept a clean sheet for 90 mins. A good performance by the defence and from Shep who had a lot to live up to after last weeks epic performance from Stu in goal.
Man of the match was Bronker for a masterful performance in the center of defence.
Donkey went to Shaun for an air shot and a foul.
Food was chips and a black pudding cheese and onion omelette. Which seemed to go down well apart from me. I don't like cheese.
So a much need win. A better turn out of players and a clean sheet.
The girl who brought the food was nice also
