Well done to Matty for getting a pitch for last weeks called off cup game.
Todays home game was moved to an impressive 3G pitch at Northwich Moss Farm.
Weather was cold and dry.
As usual DENDY played a much changed side. For the first 30 mins DENDY played the better football and should have gone ahead when they had a one on one saved by the Crewe keeper.
The last 15 mins of the half belonged to Crewe as they game close a couple of times. Some great keeping from Perry in nets and a bit of luck kept the scores level. On the 39th minute it was a typical corner headed in by an unmarked Crewe play to open the scoring.
Just as i hoped to get to the half Dendy failed to clear and Crewe punished Dendy to make it 2-0 at the half.
H.T 0-2
Second half Dendy played the nicer football before Crewe clincal play made it 3-0. The rest of the half Dendy had plenty of chances but they failed to take them. With 85 mins gone i thought Dendy had done well to be in a close game. The lack of a subs bench and fitness started to tell as Dendy couldn't match the legs or quality of the Crewe changes. A Dendy side weakened by changes and tired from the effort crumbled to lose 3 goals in 3 mins at the end of the game. This collapse was sad as Dendy played much better then the scoreline suggest for large parts of the game.
FINAL 0-6
PLUS POINTS The starting back four were awesome as was Perry in goal. Some good performances in spells from new players up the field. Some spells of good football.
MINUS POINTS Lack of quality in depth on the day. No settled team again. Yet another goal from the dead ball.
Thoughts we were missing good players today through injury and other commitments. Will we ever be able to put out our best 11 this year?. I bet they will all turn up for the same game.
Man of the match in a close vote was cronie.
