Home league match played on 17 October 2009.
Kicked off at 1:30 AM

Andy Mullen

First of all, last time I wrote a report I was told off for not saying
that we suck enough, but I will have to disappoint again, as today was
another performance of the non-sucking variety. These performances are
becoming the norm now....we better be careful otherwise we may actually
be considering a football team soon and we wouldn't want that!!

Anyway, the score is at the top so if that's all the information you
require you can stop reading now, well if that's all you wanted to know
I doubt you will have got this far.

For those of you still with me the Fellas turned out on the Ho Man Tin
pitch resembling the face of the moon (if the moon had grass on it)
decked out in our brand new classic kits. I'm sure the picture will do
the rounds soon once it has been zoomed in a bit after Bulldog stood on
top of the Peak to take it!!

The Fellas were reminded to continue the hard work from last week's
battling 1-0 win over Legal Head, while we were also wary of Studz which
saw them sit level on points with the Fellas after winning three of
their first five games and only losing one.

I may be a little biased when I say this, but we had to need to worry.

The Fellas lined up with Andy (weird referring to myself but Ill roll
with it) in goal, with Bear and Parker in central defence supported by
Ikes and Doug. Garrow, Shaka, Justin and Cedric lined in midfield with
Derek 'I am a striker honest' Killburn up front with Howard as the
Fellas stuck with the 4-4-2 formation.

The Fellas controlled the possession from the off although Studz had an
early shot on goal which dropped just over the crossbar from the edge of
the area. The Fellas also suffered an early blow as Bear was forced off
after ripping his nail off his big toe, and has to be replaced my
Mauritian Dave.
David stepped straight into the action and made his mark with an early
tackle.

The Fellas continued to dominate possession with Studz happy to sit back
and attempt the odd long ball.
Derek had the best chance of the first half as America's 113th best
export surged down the right wing and fired a shot just off the mark
from inside the area, while the Fellas were also denied by several
suspect offside calls!!

The Fellas were reminded to keep it up during the half-time team talk
before Seb replaced Doug at right back and Japanese flyer Koh stepped in
at left midfield in place of Garrow.

And the move paid off shortly after the break as Koh capitalised on a
goalmouth scramble to open the scoring after the goalkeeper decided to
use his legs to block Parker's flighted free-kick before his defence
stood around looking at each other.

The lead though did not last as a Stud (??) was allowed time on the edge
of the area and shot into the corner of the net past a static Andy, who
really should have done better.

But the Fellas did not let their heads drop and the Blue clad army
regained the lead as Shaka coolly flicked the ball over his head and
hooked the ball home.

Peps came on for Shaka and managed to foul a Stud soon after as the
Fellas stood firm and fourth win in six games.

After losing the first game, the Fellas have avoided another verbal
battering with a series of battling, hard working displays, which were
achieved as a team.

Positives - the new kit.
Team work - everyone kept their heads up and kept working for the entire
game. As they said in Field of Dreams.....build it and they will come!!

Negatives - Bulldogs camera work.
- the new kit, the shorts are a little big!!
