Well - not really. Fellas had to take a second look and dig rather deep to overcome an under par first half performance and end the last game of the M7 season an a high.

The game started well with Mullenz in goal, Jules and myself in control at the back, Justin through the middle, the mad twins Vince and Andre on the wings and Peps running on top. Sandro, Martin and James were warming the sidelines. The first half does not need any mentioning, especially not the way we went two goals down. For the first one we lost the ball on the right, just outside our own box. The opposing player ran inside the ball on his foot, defenders arrived too late and boom - no chance for the Mullenz. 0:1. The opponents soon switched to long balls as we packed our midfield with Peps dropping back too to win more balls. The no offside rule increasingly annoyed us, as the opponents kept basically one player in front of our goal all the ********* time. One of those balls drifted high and up in the air. Me myself and I mistimed the header at the near post and the attacker behind on my heels let the ball drop from his head past Andy in the bottom corner. 0:2. Peps changed for James, then Sandro came on for Andre, and Thariq for Vince, the Belgium for Julius.

But we were not finished, no, not this time ... Half time talk seemed encouraging throughout. Only Justin buggered off to "work on his touch", while fellas stuck their heads together to vote on a fantastic new tactic: pressing more from the front to back. Right from the whistle it was Sandro who did see his chance, running on fire. But his Italian afro obviously confused him more then the opponents to capitalise on his own good efforts. James too, was running his socks off, doing extremely well in holding the ball high up the pitch. Thariq took advantage of so much pressure at the front curling one corner kick into the box where Sandro saw his first effort blocked, but he followed up, got his hairdo finally out of the way and headed it past the keeper. 1:2! Well, this was just the start. Vince and Andre came back on with almost immediate impact. Vince on the edge of the box took a pass or loose ball from the left on his right foot, guided it around his body opened up and released a low shot of unseen precision in the bottom corner. 2:2! He then ran absolute berserk, and to the dismay of the crowds of [female] supporters pulled his shirt off screaming non-understandable vulgarities. Good show, definitely, but a yellow card was issued quiet rightly. Goodfellas felt the momentum with them and pressed forward. This time Andre got a shot off, bang - 3:2! Same thing then, wild celebrations from the scorer running mad, [almost pulling his shirt off and] rubbing himself all over the floor, yellow card [for what exactly?]. But Goodfellas were winning.

Well that was it then. A few more changes and Fellas saw it through to the final whistle. Other events in the second half without any chronological order, included Pepe Messi's run through at least 10 players before being clearly fouled in the opponent's box. Now you guess, did we get the penalty? Ok. Think again. More chances for James, who will get loads of goals very soon. Promise. Great saves from Andy who kept us in the game until our rally later on, as the opponent team battered our goal with long range shots which mystically were all on target. Unlike our central midfielder, who still needs to "work on his touch".

Final talk: During the last 30 Minutes of the final game of the M7 football season, we finally showed what the Fellas are about: Commitment, team effort, individual skills and a good amount of collective madness. Well done!
