This was the biggest game of the clubs short history as we competed in the Balgay Cup Final against Park Tool. The gaffer went with a 4-1-3-2 to start the match.

We had a terrific line of friends, family, sponsors and supporters cheering us on, and we started the match well as the players were looking determined to lift the trophy. We took the lead when Liam pounced on a mistake at the back and he raced through on goal and coolly lobbed the ball over the keeper and into the net from just inside the box. They then had a couple of decent half chances but put both efforts over the bar. Liam was then put through on goal again and his shot from the edge of the box had the keeper beat but it went just past the left post. Just before the half hour mark they got the equaliser after the midfielder was given too much time on the ball and he hit a great shot from just outside the box into the top corner. They now had their tails up and put us under a bit of pressure, but our back four were defending brilliantly and despite the pressure they never had any clear cut chances as we went in at half time level.
HT 1-1
In the second half we went to a 4-4-2 formation and this seemed to settle us as we started to take a grip on the game again. McBee had a decent chance early on in the half as he hit a 20 yard strike which was destined for the top corner but their keeper made a good save. Liam then had another good chance after being set up by Darren but his shot went over the bar. Liam then returned the favour as he turned provider for Darren but he also shot over the bar. We kept going though and with just under 15 minutes to go we did re-take the lead when Ecky rose like a salmon out the water to head home from Ryan’s corner kick. They then pressed for the equaliser again to take it to penalties and had a chance from a corner into the box which the striker got on the end of but Hutchy made a great clearance of the line to keep us in front. We then wrapped the game up with a great counter attacking move when Ryan played the ball from inside our box up to Liam on the half way line and he and Darren worked well before Liam then crossed the ball into the box and Finlay got on the end of it to score with a header from close range to send the players and supporters wild. We then ran the clock down in the final couple of minutes to emerge as cup winners.
FT 3-1
This is now our third season since forming in 2010 and we have now won our first piece of silverware. All the players at the club have been terrific for us this season and thoroughly deserve to savour this cup win. Special praise must also go to the gaffer Garry Banks as he has assembled a very good side this season as he wins his first trophy in his debut season as manager.
