Back to league business as we took on DK Raiders. We were down to the bare bones for this one with a few players missing for various reasons meaning there were places on the bench for the management duo. Barry Cree made his Harleys debut partnering Ecky up front and Broony also returned from injury to take a place on the bench.

This was a game we were expected to win and we started with a great tempo putting them under pressure from the first whistle. We nearly opened the scoring early on when Fyffee had a great strike from the edge of the box but his shot crashed off the crossbar. The opening goal soon followed though when Fyffee played a great through ball to Barry and he slotted the ball into the bottom corner to score just 12 minutes into his debut. Soon after it was 2-0 with Barry on the scoresheet again as he collected Ryan’s pass and scored from just inside the box. We had a few more chances to add to the lead in the first half and were playing some great football but were letting ourselves down in the final third.
HT 0-2
Our opponents came back into the match a bit in the second half without creating any clear chances and it was still us that were looking the more threatening in front of goal. Ecky had a couple of chances in the first half and after seeing more chances come and go it was looking like it just wasn’t to be his day, but credit to him he didn’t give up and eventually got his goal with Darren claiming the assist. Broony then replaced James in the goal for his first appearance of the season after a lengthy spell out injured. Banksy then came on for his cameo role and he then set up Ecky to score his second of the game. Kris was then forced off with an injury that will keep him out for a few weeks meaning there was time for number 2 Craig to get the final few minutes also.
