The semi-finals of the George McArthur cup and we came up against premier league opposition in DUMS. Goggles came back into the starting line-up after declaring himself fit. Hutchy was ruled out unwell so Craig Stewart filled in at left back, Craig Mitchell at right back and Ryan moved out to right midfield.

From the kick off it was clear we were in for a tough match against a very good young side with pace. It was us that took the lead though against the run of play when Liam set up Darren inside the box to score. They came back at us though and got the equaliser soon afterwards. We were then hanging on a bit for the remainder of the first half but we held out to go in at half time level.
HT 1-1
They started the second half well again and their pace was causing us problems and they took the lead when the winger crossed the ball in from the left and as Craig S tried to clear the ball it flew into the net. We then nearly scored another o.g when Tam’s clearance came rattling off the crossbar. In the final 20 minutes of the game we raised our game and put them under pressure as we chased the equaliser to take it to penalties. We were denied a stonewall penalty when Mitch was fouled in the box but the useless cunt of a referee was the only person on the park who didn’t see the foul. We pushed for the goal but it wouldn’t come with the best chances falling to Tam and Liam but their decent efforts from the edge of the box went just over the bar.
FT 2-1
A defeat which means the treble dream is now over but the fact we were bitterly disappointed at losing narrowly to premier league opposition shows just how far we have come this season. We must now pick ourselves up again starting with the league game against Camperdown.
