The game of the day in the 1st division as the top two went head to head. Despite being down to the bare bones again with injuries and suspension catching up with us, this was a game which we felt we could and probably should have won but we were beaten in an eight goal thriller. The gaffer started the game with a 3-1-4-2 formation.

The opening 25 minutes of the game was unbelievable with both teams sharing six goals. After they had started the brighter, it was us who took the lead with our first attack of the game. Barry set up Ecky and he scored from just outside the box with a brilliant strike into the top corner. A defensive mistake though let them back into it soon after. We then re-took the lead when Ecky got his second with a great header from Barry’s cross into the box. They hit back again though after another mistake by us. They then took the lead for the first time in the match to make it 3-2. We then came back at them and Ryan scored after beating the defender on the edge of the box and smashing a right footed strike into the bottom left corner of the net to cap off an unbelievable opening to the game.
HT 3-3
Compared to the first half, the second was much tighter with chances few and far between, and we had a lot of possession and were doing most of the pressing but we were hit on the counter attack with 15 minutes to go as our opponents took the lead again. They then added a fifth to put the game beyond us as we chased another equaliser and leave us feeling gutted at full time. This result sees us knocked off top spot and now into third in a very tight division.
