The final league game of the season and we still had an outside chance of going up. We got the victory we needed but Camperdown also won their match which meant we missed out by promotion by just 1 point in the end, despite scoring 101 league goals in the process. We came into the match on a high after picking up our first piece of silverware in midweek by winning the Balgay Cup. The gaffer made a few changes and there was also a cameo from the gaffer himself in the last 10 minutes of the match.

We started the match well and went two up with goals from Liam and Ecky. Just as it was looking like we would go on to score a few before half time though we got a bit complacent and they came into the match and pulled a goal back. Just before the half time whistle Ecky restored our two-goal lead with our 100th league goal of the season.
HT 1-3
In the second half they then pulled another goal back to reduce the deficit to one again. McBee then made it 4-2 when he headed in following Finlay’s corner kick. They still refused to lie down though and pulled another goal back. We then had a few chances to wrap the game up, hitting the woodwork 3 times but saw the game out for the 3 points.
FT 3-4
A good victory to finish the season off and although we were disappointed to miss out on promotion it has been a good season with silverware lifted and we were also in the title race till the second last game of the season. We will learn from this and come back stronger next season as we aim to become champions whilst also defending the Balgay Cup.
