St Michaels F C     3              Clayton Orient      6      Game played on 18/11/12

St Michaels started this 3rd Round of the Arnold & May Beckley Cup against a Clayton Orient side who were unbeaten in the 2nd Division so far this season. From the start Clayton Orient put St Michaels under pressure and after only 13 minutes a long shot from the left put the visitors one up. 7 minutes later after mistakes in the St Michaels defence they went two up with a good goal. After 29 minutes St Michaels reduced the deficit when  a good free kick from Adam Fahy was headed in by Stuart Bird. 4 minutes later their 2 goal lead was restored when a route one attack produced a simple goal to make the score 1 – 3. On 41 minutes Adam Fahy was brought down in the box and Jack Jolly calmly converted the penalty. St Michaels almost scored the equaliser with 2 minutes to go to half time when Danny Baptiste unluckily hit the bar.

The start of the 2nd half saw Clayton Orient totally dominate and after only 3 minutes Harry Graham dropped the ball to give the visitors a tap in goal which was followed by 2 more simple goals in the next seven minutes to make the score 2 – 6. James Mckerrell bundled in a goal with two minutes remaining to make the final score a most embarrassing 3 – 6 to Clayton Orient.

Whilst Clayton Orient deserved their victory St Michaels missed countless opportunities to at least make the match competitive. No player came out of this game with any real merit and everyone must just learn from it and now concentrate on a most important League game against AFC North Heath next Sunday.
