St Michaels F C 5 Camden F C 3 Game played on 22/09/13
St Michaels started their 2nd game of the season brightly and it was after only a few seconds when Adam Fahy was fouled whilst attacking down the left. 3 minutes later a good corner from Adam Fahy was firmly headed into the net by Dan Tarrant.
.
St Michaels continued into the ascendancy without further reward and after 28 minutes Camden scored against the run of play to level the scores at 1 – 1. No further major happenings in the 1st half apart from a booking for Ryan Nibbs right on half time.
Ronnie Mewes came on for the injured Ben Baptiste at the start of the second half. Camden started the stronger and on 48 minutes were gifted a free header in the box which they converted to make the score 1 – 2. Ten minutes later St Michaels almost equalised when a great volley from Ronnie Mewes went past the post. Ronnie continued his good form and a great run and cross saw Dan Tarrant bundle over the line to make it 2 – 2. Six minutes later Dan Tarrant was denied his hat trick when his shot was well saved but the inevitable happened a minute later when he headed in a Jack Jolly corner.
6 minutes later Dan Tarrant got his fourth when he headed in an Adam Fahy corner.
He was not finished there and on the 86th minute a long marauding run from the captain Sam Meade saw Dan Tarrant crash in his fifth goal. In added time Camden scored their third but this was just a consolation. There was just time for Max Knott (Pudsey) to get a nasty gash on his head which led to him going to hospital and having a few stitches.
A good well deserved first win in the Premier Division for St Michaels with every player giving their best. Special mention for Harry Smart, who on any other day would have been Man of the Match. That award however can only go to Daniel Tarrant with his 5 goals and general non-stop performance.
