RS has been the bogey team for USM Veterans for the last couple of years. RS been doing this for years where previously the disbanded NbyN keep winning against RS but the never say die spirit of RS finally overcome& overlasting NbyN.
Yesterday match RS nearly broke the hoo-doo against the evergreen USM Veterans. RS start the match brightly, press high up the field & pass the ball with accuracy, when the ball start ricocheting at the D area, guest mid of RS, Derek pounced when every one is looking for the ball, he control & sidefooted the ball onto the bottom corner of the net. USM's keeper only left stranding as the ball through the sea of body.
USM slowly gather their momentum & attacking RS with purposes, a overhead ball to the right defence of RS where Allan is chasing the USM's striker till in the ball when Allan mistakenly brought down the striker with his famed Scissor tackle, penalty to USM.
USM levelled the score. RS regain the composure & soaked up the pressure from USM. When Derek is sent down the line, he managed to twist, dribble & draw 2 USM's defenders & wait for the perfect moment to cross the ball across the goal & awaiting for tap in. Arrived in the box is the Wai Loon, RS's Ferrari once upon a time, everyone of RS is ready to celebrate but he somehow managed to let the ball slip under his feet & the ball went out. Score remained 1-1 & RS left stunned & can't believe what has happened.
from the goal kick, USM veterans managed to by passed the RS midfield at ease with their tiki-taka, the speedy right wing send in a wondeful crossing evaded all 3 RS defenders, USM striker control the ball with 1 touch, second touch send ball into the net. RS fall behind 2-1 instead of leading.
RS try to recover from the dissapointment, before they manage to do that, USM veterans send in another dangerous cross, this time to the far post where their winger managed to lost Allan & hook the ball across the goal to headed in.
Half time RS 1-3 USM Veterans.
Mr.xXx's just can't bear with what he seen during first half, he made changes start from 2nd half.
RS start the 2nd half with more purposes, keep sending the on form & speedy Derek down the left wing to take on their defender.
a sweet triangle pass between Derek, BK & Siang send Derek clear, he carry the ball into the penalty area & checked back to his right foot, he rifled the ball high into the net. 2-3 game on!!!
RS keep pressing the USM veterans who lost a bit of their way, Wai Loon who now playing right wing send in a cross, causing havoc at the D area, Loke control the ball & strike it towards goal, but a miskick from Loke also misdirect the usm goalkeeper who misjudge the speed of the ball & let the ball slip through his hand n his leg. 3-3
RS who now in high spirit try to take the lead, but they forget the dangers post by usm veterans. once again they managed to bypass RS midfield with tiki taka & send a delicious through ball over the head of RS defence, the striker control & lob the ball over RS keep & USM retake the lead. 4-3
RS will not give up, once again they remain patient & circulate the ball, send the ball to Derek at the perfect moment & he run down the line, this time he choose to shoot instead of passing, the USM keeper spilled the shot & the striker send the rebound home. 4-4!!!
the time left too little for both team to find a winner, RS captain SB clear the ball from the corner & Ref Misai whistled to signaled the end of the match.
Thanks to the star performance of Derek, RS managed to draw 4-4 despite trailing by 3-1 at half time. Mr.xXx also feels dissapointed with the defensive display of the team where he want to see more teamwork instead of only left the defenders to do the defensive work.
