Home league match played on 13 March 2010.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Fleet started the match with all guns blazing, attacking the Knights as soon as the match started, but Blackbourn, Komboni, Grundy and Hooper held them back.  The Knights soon found themselves attacking, and a quickly taken throw-in by Komboni released Sellitto and Holloway, but the Fleet defence were strong and repelled this attack.  From the Mid-field, Gardener incepted and sent Holland forward, he quickly released Doel who slipped the ball to Holloway; firing from range the Fleet keeper reacted quickly and saved a goal-bound effort.  Fleet then mounted a strong attack, passing neatly until an opening appeared, but Rust, the Knights keeper saw the danger and rushed out to clear the danger away.  Fleet then started building their attack again, a well worked ball through the heart of the Knights defence; a lone striker headed towards goal, Rust charged out and got his hands to the ball but was unable to stop it crossing the line, 1-0 Fleet.  Then Fleet started to dominate the match, freely passing the ball and getting into good goal scoring opportunities, but Gardener, Hooper, Grundy and Blackbourn managed to bring an end to many attacks.  When the Knights forced the ball into the Fleet half, Holland, Powell, Doel and Holloway combined well but every attempt was countered by the Fleet’s defence.  From one such Knight attack, Fleet cleared the ball up-field catching the Knights on the hop; as 2 striker bore down towards goal Rust could do nothing to stop Fleet taking a 2-0 lead.  Now as time was ticking away towards half-time, the Knights were throwing themselves forward, forcing the play and trying to score which left gaps in the Knights defence, which Fleet exploited.  However, Blackbourn, Hooper, Grundy and Komboni stuck to their duties well, blocking these Fleet attacks.  As the Knights played themselves out of defence, a quickly taken throw-in by Komboni sent Holland and Doel towards the Fleet goal; Doel slipped the ball to Holloway who lobbed the ball high over the Fleet goal-keeper and into the net 2-1 Fleet.  Knights attacked again, Gardener sending the ball forward for Sellitto, Doel and Holloway to chase, but Fleet defended well but at the expense of a corner; Holloway took and a goal-mouth scramble took place, with shots by Holland, Doel, Powell and Sellitto, were all blocked and then cleared by Fleet, just as the half-time whistle blew.

As the 2nd half started, the Knights headed straight for the Fleet goal; Holland released Holloway who sent Doel running forward, Doel collected the ball and forced the ball into the net 2-2.  This goal didn’t stop Fleet from battling forward, and soon Rust was called into action again, aided by Gardener and Courtnage, who between them brought this attack to a sudden end.  From a Knights Throw-in taken by Komboni, Doel and Sellitto bore down towards goal, Sellitto striking the ball firmly but the Fleet keeper brought off a great save.  Then the Knights applied the pressure, Gardener passed to Powell who slipped the ball to Doel who struck for goal, only to see his effort rebound off the post; Holloway too, got into the act, and he too struck the post.  As the pressure was applied by the Knights, Grundy sent the ball down the wing for Sellitto, Sellitto rounded a defender before releasing Holloway, and this time there were no mistakes, 3-2 Knights.  The Knights then started to string together a few good passes, but the final efforts on goal were wide.  From a Fleet goal-kick, Sellitto incepted and flicked the ball forward for Holloway, again without hesitation Holloway found the back of the net 4-2 Knights.  Sellitto then came into the game more, crossing the ball well but unable to find a Knights striker and fleet held strong and cleared.  As the time was ebbing away Grundy sent Sellitto forward, he looked up and floated the ball over the heads of the Fleet defenders, Holloway and Doel set off after the ball; Holloway collected and fired home the 5th Knights goal of the match, and this action brought the match to a close.  The manager then had to decide who should be man of the match; Gardener was given the honour due to the fact of his commitment and domination of the mid-field.
