The return of our first ever competitive match v Jamaica Inn 'A'. Will we see another 9-0 thrashing or will we continue the consistent 7-2 scoreline that we have seen for the last 4 weeks....
As JP never got back to us and Mark was running 45 mins late it was nervous start when they piled in with 7 players and a few supporters too.......
At one point I thought we would have to ask Jez to play but he was happy heckling from the bar! Instead, Emma stepped into the gap left by her AWOL brother and she took part in the first game of the night.
Longy / Emma / Gaz up first. I have found a guy with a weaker handshake than Gaz . FAGGOT. We started the first trebles game and to be fair we played pretty well. Longy leaves Emma with Double 3, I have seen her take this out against me enough times! But not this time, over to Gaz...... No. Back to Longy who also missed 3 darts at it. They took the leg with a nice double 8 check out. 9 missed darts at the same double tells me were to afraid of going for it. 1-0 down
James called in for the singles following his success in beatin Paul Burnett 3-0 on Sunday. Without a win in singles this season, he was looking to follow in the footsteps of 4 Mill House darting greats that have achieved it this season: JP, Lee 'The Stump' Stemp, Longy and Gaz. First leg James starts off with 120 (a Brucie Bonus included) but coldn't take out double top with 5 attempts at it. After the first 2 missed shots he threw to quick and he lost the leg. Hit a 30 to get off in the second leg and was always short after that. 2-0 loss in the singles, Paul Burnett was beating by James but that was Sunday, this was Tuesday!!!! 2-0 down
Gaz in the singles, looking for his 2nd singles win of the season, although he hasn't beaten Paul Burnett, he has won a singles for the Mill House this season. Gazza smashed the first 3 darts for 140 and with some steady scoring he never looked like losing this leg. Took out double 4. 2nd leg and nothing really went right as the long haired opponent (Phil) hammered the treble 20 time and again and took out tops to level up. 3rd leg Gaz hits 137, follows it with a ton and still lost. Some great darts there mate, unlucky! 3-0 down
Mark finally decided to show his face at this point and bought a note from the wife explaining why he was late ha ha and he was called into action straight immediately.
Mark / Lee / James (yes, James the guy who beat Paul Burnett 3-0 on Sunday) were called on to the battlefield. James smashing consecutive tons, Mark scoring nothing and Lee hitting 85 and 81 to leave 95. James hits 55 to leave The Stump with tops, he misses bat casually spins the second dart into double 10. Great team game lads. 3-1 down
Right, with the worry of another 9-0 off our backs we had every opportunity to push for the 2nd winning game.
Well, as Longy was chalking ANOTHER game my mind was focused on it and didn't make any notes.
Gaz / Lee lost in the doubles game cos they are bent! 4-1 down
The dream team on now - Mark / James (Paul Burnett's nemesis) James hits consecutive tons again and Mark scored well to back him up with 119 and 79 to leave 40 on the board. James missed 3 darts at tops, Mark hit 20 then ab bounce out of double 10. A quivering hand was enough to divert the last dart into the wrong bed and the opponents checked out nicely. Unlucky again lads. 5-1 down
Lee taking on Gary in the singles and it was an even contest. The scoreline reflected this as the score was 1-1 in legs. Lee left himself 170 and hit treble 20 with his first dart. A sharp intake of breath from the players and spectators alike, but could he follow up??? Course he could. With a fucking 5. You melt! He got done 2-1. 6-1 down
Longy in singles action (only cos JP didn't show his ugly mug!). Got smashed in leg 1 and highest score with 41 twice. 2nd leg not much better in terms of the result but hit 83 twice followed by 11 and 22 he lost on double 3 after David took 7 darts at it. 7-1 down
Mark won the first leg of his singles by checking out 36 in an unconventional way of double 4 & double 14. This was after he bust 136 by hitting a 140 ha ha. 2nd leg went by and they drew level. Mark hits 7 to start followed by 100. When left with 183 he hits 3. This left too big a gap and the opponent checked it out! 8-1
Shepherds Pie on the menu, luvvly jubbly.... Can't beat a bit of SMASH ha ha.
Lets get some banter going on here cos at the moment, it is just Emma and me. Also, see how many times the name Paul Burnett comes up in this write up. I bet it isn't even half the number that James mentioned him on Tuesday. Ahhh bless, it was pretty good to beat him though mate! All you need to do now is win a single for us!!!!!!
