Well, after last week the scoreline could only be an improvement!
And it was, JP weighing in with some unbelievable darts (supported by some top scoring by James in the trebles).
Our first game won for the season was a trebles game with JP, Lee and James. We looked solid all over the board. JP and Lee were steady on the scoring and James smashing in consecutive tons there was only one outcome!! No nerves from JP when he took out Tops (I think).
1-0 to the Mill. Could get used to this!!
Second game was a bit of a strange one. Luis suffering from dartitis?!? or too much wanking..... The scoring was steady but we just couldn't get a finish. Daryl (Ian from Shameless) and John chipped in with some decent arrows but it wasn't to be the dream debut's from these 2.
Straight in to the doubles which saw the 'Dream Team' Longy and Lee stepping up to the oche. Longy once again left his partner out to dry with some pony scoring and we never threatened.
JP and James come back and looked like they were gonna edge it with a few missed doubles but no clean sweep for JP this time!
Into the singles, just as the food came out Longy gets called up as he was laying his hand on a chicken wrap a few chips..... Oh well, back to business..
After scoring well and getting down to 40, Longy missed numerous shots at nearly every double! Taking out double 1 to take the leg, surely we can close the gap... But just as he did last week, his asshole started twitching at the thought of a singles win and he missed chances at doubles in the next 2 legs to lose 2-1. Another lager I had to buy for an opponent, best get some overtime soon!
Up stepped JP to build on his victory in the trebles. Could he cope without his 2 trusted partners? Course he could... This boy was on fire last night...... hitting 1 or 5 with his first dart nearly everytime but the adjustment on dart 2 and 3 were different class. Cruising into the lead and retaining it for a 2-1 win.... Get in there!
James took his single game as seriously and hurried as always (not sure if it is his style or because Shane was waiting for him!). Unfortunately a 2-1 defeat after some decent darts saw him going home with no smile on his face!
Lee, on his 3rd match of the night, looked like he might do a bit but the fatigue set in and he crumbled to a 2-0 loss..... Looking tired and depleted he wandered back to the bar to get another round in, good lad!
To finish the night, John stepped up for his first singles game of the season. Looking like he was getting into the groove but just no doubles taken out! Another 2-0 defeat..... Unlucky!
Overall, well played boys. Great performance by JP! Let's take it into next week and smash the Wellington 'Boots' all over the place! Come on!
Also, thanks to Emma for scoring and doing the grub. Not bad seeing as you demolished about 20 shots of vodka! I can't wait to see Daryl and you have that drinking contest!
