The SSAFC showed a lethal touch infront of goal with a dominating 9-2 victory away from home in Feltham against Hampton & Richmond supporters on a boggy pitch which didnt help to a good passing game of football!
The SSAFC started brightly and looked to dominate the early proceedings with Bell having the first chance but his header didnt trouble the goal. Teale then had some good chances firstly the defending blocking the lob and going narrowly wide and secondly saw the keeper off his line but his effort was saved by the keeper. Sam Dunn in midfield worked well with Collins and it was Dunn who had the next effort but his long shot went wide! Hampton looked to hit on the break and nearly scored from a corner but the effort deflected wide. Stephen Pike then had a mazy run on the right and cut inside but his shot went into the sidenetting. It was no suprised when the SSAFC took the lead, after good play in the middle, Dunn picked out a 40 yard pass into the path of Bell who lobbed the keeper and into the net to make it 1-0, a cool finish from the gaffer!
Teale then had another chance which was tipped wide by the keeper with the ball looking to go in! He then had a slice of luck after a quick free kick from Teale caught him off guard and his save between his legs was helped by the mud stopping the ball crossing the line. Dunn then bursted through midfield and went close with his powerful shot hitting the bar and coming out! Chesworth next was the unlucky man after good play and beating the defender, sent a lovely chip towards goal which was tipped onto the bar and away! It just seemed the keeper was on fire and kept everything out. Sapsed then had a Maradona style run beating 5 men running a full length of the pitch and found himself in on goal but a bobble just as he striked it towards goal made him scuff it wide, a shame as that could have been goal of the season from the 33 year old! It was suprising going in at H/T that the score was 1-0 as the SSAFC play merited a bigger scoreline.
The SSAFC didnt waste much time in getting a second and Teale finally got his goal when Collins in the midfield had a pot shot which was parried into the path of Teale who beat the defender and cooly slotted into the bottom corner to make it 2-0! Dunn then got his second assist when a lovely ball found Teale who smashed it into the near corner and made it 3-0, a quick-fire double from the top scorer so far this season. The SSAFC were on top and had more chances with Teale again being denied by the keeper. It then became 4 when a lovely corner from Carroll found Bell who peeled off his marker and volleyed into the net, the SSAFC started to get the scoreline they deserved but credit to Hampton they kept battling on and got their reward from a free kick that was whipped in beautifully and found their strikers head to head it past Peacock in goal who had no chance.
The SSAFC looked to get back on top and it was soon 5 and the hat-trick from the gaffer after a mix-up at the Hampton back-line found Teale who rounded the keeper and unselfishly passed it across goal to Bell who had the simplest of tasks to put it in the net. It wouldnt be long till Teale got his hat-trick when Collins on the wing beat 2 players and squared the ball across to Teale who with the inside of his foot, just curled it into the far corner, 6-1 and plenty more action to come! Teale then got his 4th of the game when from a corner wasnt cleared properly, Barker rose up and nodded it to Teale who took a touch and volleyed it home, a class finish. Hampton then got a goal back when a long ball wasnt dealt with and the striker beat Peacock to the ball but dragged it wide, however Peacock collided with Barker and lost his balance which gave enough time to Hampton to cross it in and found their striker who slammed it home to make it 7-2
Dunn then got himself a birthday goal when good play by Wedge & Collins resulted in a penalty after Collins cross was handled and the referee gave it straight away despite being over 70 yards away! Good vision. Dunn tucked away the resulting penalty to make it 8-2. It wasnt all done their as the SSAFC grabbed a ninth when from a corner, Barker got his head to the ball and Pike with back to the goal, unleashed a volley which the keeper parried into the net, something the Hampton keeper didnt deserve as he played well and kept it to 9!
The final whistle went to finish what was the SSAFC finest away performance for a while and can take alot of positives
