Our start to the game and infact the first half of the match was at
> best playground football. This was a team unable to adjust to the
> small pitch and for a few players seemingly still waking up . In the
> two previous friendlies we've enjoyed the luxury of vast space and
> time to play, but not today.
>
> Phantoms went 1-0 down after some passive and unaware defending led
> to a tap in goal. In the second qtr Sharks scored again, phantom
> players dropping too deep to allow a free shot from the edge of the
> box which was well despatched.
>
> 2-0 down and up against it, NW started to create chances in the last
> few minutes of the second qtr, including a rocket from EH. Third
> qtr was very positive as Phantoms started to adjust and play. More
> movement, creating width and trying to limit our game to 2-3 touch
> football. At this point we had a number of chances that should have
> been converted into goals. In the final qtr we produced our best
> football with the boys playing thoughtful football at pace. After a
> few half chances ON crossed for RD to arrive late and score.
> The key point were the moves off the ball, particularly from JRI to drag defenders away.
> Soon after it was 2-2 as GW was put through on goal to make it
> 2-2. With a couple of easy chances for phantoms to score that were
> sadly squandered, Sharks nicked a winner 4 mins from time, with their
> striker responding quickest to the initial save from RE.
