Back to league action today after a dismal display last week in the cup. Aston village was the visitors to the thrybergh sports arena in the 1st ever competitive meeting between the 2 sides. With 15 lads available we stuck with our usual 352 and lined up jamie in goal a bk 3 of ian ryan n dosh, Aaron n salty was given the attacking wing bk roles, with reynolds n dukey the sitting 2, Jonty was the legs in the whole behind parkey n coulthard uptop. A good strong bench of jonni rougvie wayne n conlon.
We set off brilliant (for a change) closing down winning ball back quick and passing and moving it brilliant round the field village couldnt live with it, however they did look good on counter although we was restricting them to long range strikes as our defending as a team was very good. We took a deserved lead from a brilliant bit of 1, 2 touch football with aaron finishing well in the bottom corner. We doubled our lead 10 mins later with help of there keeper a long range effort from salty saw there keeper miss punch ball with it flying in the net. Salty doubled is goal tally and put is 3-0 infront from another long range effort that this time needed no help off there keeper with it curling into top corner. Village had 5 min spell with a few free kicks and corners but again our defending was of the highest order. Not long b4 half time a good move down the right and great cross from salty to back post found parkey who headed us into a 4-0 fully deserved half time lead.
2nd half we didnt start well and village had a good 5 mins but again not forcing our keeper into making a save. We picked up and got bk on top and the 5th goal game with parkey smashing in from close range. Villages heads had gone and the dirty tackles was starting. 1st change came off came aaron to replaced by rougvie. Things was getting to village none other than 1 of there lads who punched dukey from behind fucking coward, the ref dealt with it well and dismissed the clown straight away. Salty hit his hatrick with a great strike to make it 6-0. 2nd sub came jonni came on in place of parkey and wayne replaced salty. The game had gone quite scrappy and which didnt help us get more goals which our performance probably deserved, Conlon just bk from injury replaced dukey for last 10 minutes. And to be fare he should have scored with his 1st touch lovely ball in from jonni to back post were conlon headed just wide, Late on a double save from housley kept our clean sheet in tact which the defence fully deserved today.
Overall village av been turning up with 11/12 players all season so far and been scoring on average 3 a game so excellent to keep a clean sheet against them. We also scored some really good goals scored today plus some great workrate put in by every 1.
Also every 1 on time barring 1 and every 1 out of changing rooms in good time to set pitch up and warm up properly, This cant be a 1 off we have to do this every week. WELL DONE BOYS EXCELLENT TODAY UTC
