Horden began the game slightly nervous but soon grew in confidence after James Connor had his attempt on goal deflected by the cross bar on 18 mnutes. Seven minutes later Jack Pounder headed wide but within a couple of minutes he headed back across goal for Michael Robson to head past the 'keeper. Three minutes later Horden were two up when Connors' strength won a close cause ball at the by line which he laid off to Pounder to fire into the top corner from the narrowest of angles - Half time 2-0
On 47 minutes Sam Hogg, in goal for Horden, had been a mere spectator throughout the first half suddenly became a provider when his long kick out was excellently controlled by Robert Taylor who turned, beat his man, and rifled the ball with his left foot into the bottom corner. The visitors got a consolation goal on 58 minutes but the home side hit back and got two more goals on 62 and 65 minutes. A long throw by Scott Davidson was poked home in a crowded box by Taylor who turned provider from a dead ball free kick that was superbly headed home by Pounder. There was no way back for the Rose and Crown and the Supporters triumph takes them into the third round draw for the first time.

Horden started this cup game on the front foot against last seasons’ semi finalists and took the lead when Jack Pounder headed across goal for Michael Robson to head home. It was soon two for the home side when James Connor won the ball in the corner and played in Pounder who from a tight angle fired an unstoppable shot into the top corner. HT 2-0.
The second half started the same as the second with Horden dominating and they got their third when Robert Renwick unleashed a left footed shot into the bottom corner giving the keeper no chance. Witton Park gave themselves a lifeline when they pulled a goal back but it was short lived as Horden stepped up a gear and got two more goals. Again it was Pounder and Renwick who got their names on the scoresheet rounding off an excellent team performance to take Horden CW Supporters into the last sixteen of the County Cup.
