After Horden scored eleven goals in their previous game they created as many chances today against Easington CIU. Similar chances which could have had a similar outcome but for Joe Atherton in the visitors goal. An excellent performance which should be rewarded with an England call up. He was outstanding. Horden opened the scoring on 14 minutes when Robert Taylor's delivery to the back post was headed home by in form striker James Connor. Atherton had already made two or three cracking saves to keep the Colliery Club in the game and on 25 minutes they equalised through a defensive mix up.
Some fine saves by 'keeper Sam Hogg kept Horden on their toes but he was a mere spectator for most of the second half with the heroics of his opposite number earning rave reviews and sharing the points.

Horden started strongly and could have scored a couple however they did take the lead when Robert Renwick crossed for James Connor to head home. Both teams had chances but a mix up in the Horden defence allowed a simple tap in for the Easington side. HT 1-1.
In the second half It was Horden who created the better chances but poor finishing and some excellent goalkeeping by the Easington stopper the scoreline remained the same.
