For the last game of 2016 Horden finished with a comfortable win having hit the woodwork four times the victory was tinged with a slight frustration. All credit to The George who battled all the way to the final whistle but the damage was inflicted in the first 45 minutes. Charlie Salicki was fouled on 6 minutes and the resulting free kick by Robert Taylor beat everyone to nestle in the back of the net - 1-0. A controvertial penalty was awarded to the visitors on 19 minutes but 'keeper Adam Cockroft guessed correctly and pulled off a great save. within two minutes Horden went two up. A long clearance was flicked on by Jack Pounder and Taylor timed his run to perfection to beat the 'keeper with ease and score his second. 2-0. Hordens' third goal came just before half time. It was almost a carbon copy of their second goal. This time it was James Connor heading the ball that sent Pounder through to finish for 3-0
In the second half it was a more even affair but the home side persisted and got their 4th on 88 minutes when a Taylor cross was met by Salicki who guided his header over the advancing 'keeper. 4-0

Seaham the George 0
It was Hordens' last game before the Christmas break and they continued their great form with a 4-0 victory. On a very uneven pitch both teams were cancelling each other out but it was Horden who took the lead when Robert Renwicks floated free kick eluded everyone to go straight in the goal. Not long after Seaham were awarded a penalty but Adam Cockroft in the Horden goal got down well to his right to save the spot kick. It wasn't long before Horden were 2 up this time Jack Pounder found the back of the net. And before the break it was 3 when Renwick got his 2nd. HT 3-0.
The 2nd half was much the same as the first with both teams cancelling each other out but it was Horden who had the better chances to score but just couldn't finish the opportunities that came their way and it wasn't until the final minutes that Horden got their 4th when Renwick put a ball into the box where Charlie Salicki out jumped the keeper to head home. This was not the best performance by the Horden lads but they did show that they can still win when they are not at their best.
