Once again this fixture proved to be a PDSL classic but again Horden were unable to get the better of Dawdon Welfare Park. Having drawn level on 90 minutes the Supporters should have been able to pinch it during the time added on period.
Charlie Salicki opened the scoreline for the home side on 16 minutes, firing in an unstoppable drive from 18 yards from a Craig Harbord corner. Dawdon pushed Horden back and despite two fabulous saves from Adam Cockroft could not prevent Horden falling behind on 40 and 43 minutes - Half time 1-2
Horden succumbed to a 50th minute set piece and a mammoth task was needed to get them back into the game. That was exactly what happened. Slowly chance after chance went begging but on 78 minutes a great run down the left by 'Man Of The Match' Robert Taylor delivered an excellent ball in for Jonathan Monaghan to power through in front of his marker to finish from five yards. 2-3 Horden were in the assendancy and 12 minutes later the third goal came to break the Dawdon grip on a pulsating second half. Jack Pounder played the ball into Taylor's path who cut into the 18 yard box but instead of squaring it decided to smash an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net. Pounders shot in the dying seconds of the game went agonisingly the wrong side of the post

Horden entertained last year's champions and came away with a draw. Both teams started brightly but it was Horden who had the better of the early exchanges and took a deserved win when Charlie Salicki turned on the edge of the area to fire in an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net. Dawdon came into the game more and it was Adam Cockroft in the Horden goal who kept them out but Dawdon did go into the break ahead when they scored two goals. Horden were feeling a bit sorry for themselves and Dawdon scored another just after the break after that both teams were cancelling each other out. So Horden made some changes from the bench which seemed to spur them on and soon pulled one back when Robert Renwick fired low into the box and it was Jonny Monaghan who reacted quickest to poke home. With Hordens never say die attitude they drew level when Robert Renwick cut in from the left and fired in an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net giving the keeper no chance giving Horden a well deserved point.
