Croxley C&H fc vs Sharpshooters
Half of the team met at Levi and the other half at the ground.
The team was in a confident mood ahead of another league game against Croxley Coach and Horses Football Club.
The mood in the changing rooms was immense, some good banter and a masterful team talk by Bav’s.
We started the game brightly and the build up to our first goal was awesome. Ball was played wide to creaser, he found the run of Matt Reynolds, who crossed near post for Warren Davies to tap home right foot into the top corner, keeper no chance. 0-1 with 4 minutes played. Quickest goal of our season.
Shooters could smell blood here, and all of the team wanted to get their name on the score sheet.
Croxley didn’t trouble our defence too much, some great build up in the centre meant Matt found the run of Danny Howard, who lobbed the keeper from 25 yards, a sublime finish from the man known as ‘ Huckerby ‘
0-2, this was becoming easy.
A little bit of complacency kicked in, and Croxley had a few chances, a lovely save by Warren Crombie with his legs kept the Clean Sheet in tack.
The half time whistle blew and the team gathered - Bavs took out his NOTE PAD...... what would be on here....... every player had some words........ most of them good but it seemed to work as we came out flying in the second half.
The 2nd half began, subs to Hease for Hood and Creaser for Bavo meant the whole team had a run out. Hitch came on and Matt went CB and Glen into CM.
The 3rd goal came from some good play by our defence. Sean picked out Danny on the left wing, a neat pass to Warren Davies who delivered an inswinger onto the head of Sean, who nodded across goal to Matt who headed into the net, keeper no chance. 0-3 game over surely.
Shooters’ 4th goal came from the other wing, Bavo turning the left back, playing a sumptuous pass into Warren Davies, who turned the Centre Half and side left foot past the keeper.
He mocked the Centre half and then did the same to their #4 who gave a verbal saying lucky goal. Wazza’s reply was, right foot and left foot, I want a header.
There were chances for a 5th goal, Danny and Matt missing the target, it could easily have been 7 or 8.
A Great win boys well deserved another 6 points on offer in the league which will see us finish with a healthy goal differnce and points tally above mid table.... OH and the SEMI
