Home league match played on 22 February 2009.
Kicked off at 10:45 AM

Boythorpe took to the field for the first time since 18th January for a league game, and the lost weeks showed in both teams performance early on.

It took as long as 5 mins before a serious attempt on goal, when Old Boys broke up the left wing and put over a low cross which Potter fumbled, the ball broke, and as 2 Old boys bore down on goal, a timley clearance by Higginbottom prevented a goal. From this Boythorpe broke forward and the attack resulted in a corner, taken by Paul Walton, and headed wide by Hattersley.

Bolsover then exerted quite a bit of pressure on the blues goal, as the home side struggled to stamp any authority on the game. On 12 mins a long clearance by Potter, was headed on by Wright but Goodwin shot wide. After15 mins a Old Boy midfielder dallied on the ball, and Walton robbed him of possesion, but was crowded out before he could shoot.

Boythorpe took a deserved lead on 23 mins, when Paul Walton hooked a clearance from his own penalty area, and way over the half way line for brother LEE WALTON to run onto, the striker kept his head, and although being persued by 2 defenders finished cooly. From the kick off Bolsover pushed forward and won a free kick 25 yards out, and although the ball rounded the wall, Potter saved low down by his feet.

Boythorpe were unlucky not to add to the lead as a ball back to the keeper was hurriedly hacked clear and the ball rebounded off L.Walton straight back to the grateful keeper. The keeper redeemed himself on the half hour as good work by Lee Walton picked out Hattersley and his effort was superbly tipped over the bar.

A good team move on 36 mins ended with Hattersley weaving his way through midfield only to be snuffed out as the defence grew in number. And Paul Walton was unlucky not to add a 2nd on 40 mins when he picked up the ball in his own half and raced forward unleashing a 30 yard rasping drive just over the bar. HALF TIME Boythorpe..1 Bolsover Old Boys...0.

Bolsover had a good first 10 mins of the 2nd half causing the blues a few headaches at the back.First Whitehead blocked a goal bound effort then a free kick was saved low down by his post by Potter after it had clipped the wall on its way through, then Potter again with the help of a defender managed to scramble a low cross by the near post clear.

Boythorpe won a free kick just outside the visitors box for handball on 58 mins, Hattersley curled the ball wickedly just over. Hattersley then appeared to be bundled over in the box but the ref waved play on, and from the break Bolsover cut through the home defence but shot wide. On the hour good play by Wright and P. Walton found Hattersley 20 yards out and his crisp shot hit the post with the keeper well beaten.  Bolsover won a free kick wide on the right, and as the ball was floated over Higginbottom headed over while under pressure.

Boythorpe made a change on 72 mins as legs began to tire, bringing Widerman on for Lee Wright up front. Within a minute WIDERMAN was found by a Hattersley through ball and super sub justified the change putting his effort beyond the keeper and into the net for 2-0. Widerman almost added a 3rd a few mins later but was clearly pushed in the box but the ref waved play on again and Bolsover broke downfield. The attack was abrubtly brought to a halt when Lawrence hacked the striker down on the edge of the box.

Bolsover reduced the arrears on 88 mins when a long ball over the Boythorpe defence caused a mistake between Potter and Hardy and the striker lifted the ball over the advancing keeper. FULL TIME Boythorpe...2 Bolsover Old Boys...1
