ANOTHER RECORD SMASHED AS AFC GO GOAL CRAZY !!!!

AFC Walton....11  Hunloke Arms F.C....0

Benny started the latest league home game with the same starting 11, that progressed in last weeks Derbyshire Junior Cup. Hunloke despite kicking uphill, started the brighter of the sides, and in fact fashiond a couple of chances, pushin AFC back into defence. Normal service was resumed however as early as the 6th minute, a fine team move saw Paul Walton put over a pinpoint cross for WRIGHT to glace home with a neat header. Hunloke were rocked back on thier heels with Bettney pulling all the string from centre back. It was his long ball out of his own area that MITCHELL latched onto, racing clear from his marker before rounding the keeper and slotting home on 16 mins. Hunloke won the ball 30 yards out soon after, but the striker fired wide when well placed. Bettney fashioned himself a chance on 20 mins firing just over with thekeeper beaten. On 25 mins Hunloke broke beyond the AFC defence, but were thwarted by Silcocks well timed tackle winning a corner in the process. From the kick Megyesi rose to head off his own goal line as Hunloke threatened.

A superb Bennett pass picked out Mitchell, but he fired just over. AFC grabbed a third on 34 mins to take the sting out of an improving Hunloke side who were only held at bay by the dominating Bettney abley helped out by Silcock and Megyesi who protected Furniss. A shocking miskick by Hunlokes keeper was controlled by Mitchell, who smartly lifted the ball back over the stranded keeper, the ball was going wide until WRIGHT popped up at the back post to stab the ball home. Mitchell went close on 39 mins, a free kick was given for a foul, Bettney rolled the kick to Mitchell, whoseshot struck a defender, sending the keeper the wrong way but crashing back off the post. HALF TIME AFC Walton..3 Hunloke Arms F.C....0.

Furniss had to be on his toes within a minute of the restart, a crisp shot saw the keeper fly full stretch to his left to claw the shot round the post for a corner, he was first to react at the resulting kick, smothering the effort from a first time snap shot. Paul Walton went close on 48 mins, a run and shot by the player was parried by the keeper and the rebound was fired over. WALTON in fact grabbed his well deserved goal on 55 mins, Danny Brown picked him out with a pass, and a fine run and shot left the keeper helpless to keep the ball out. The keeper parried another effort from Mitchell, as AFC took full control of the game just before the hour. On the hour Benny decided, with the game safe to start to make changes, with Bonson coming on to play in he hole, with Paul Walton moving to striker and Wright making way. Bonson soon began to make a nusience of himself with some strong runs into the box.

MITCHELL grabbed his second soon after on 69 mins in spectacular fashion, a pinpoint Ricky Silcock cross saw the in form striker score with a cheeky overhead effort, beating the keeper all ends up. This signalled  a rush of AFC goals as they went through the gears against a tiring Hunloke team. Brown was the supplier on 71 mins with another great cross, that MITCHELL collected before AGAIN rounding the keeper and firing home. MITCHELL then scored his FOURTH of the day with more conventional means, heading past the keeper, after yet another Danny Brown run and cross, meaning Mitchell has now scored on ALL TEN appearances this season grabbing 29 goals in the process. Within 2 mins of this goal AFC made it 8-0, Bonsons fine run was brought to a halt in the box, and the Ref pointed to the spot. BETTNEY steppd up and smashed the spot kick home, giving the keeper no chance. Miles came on to replace Lee Walton soon after and then on 80 mins Benny played his last card with Higginbottom replacing a fast improving Bennett, who is almost back to his true form in midfield.

AFC snatched a scrappy NINTH on 85 mins, when the ball seemed to take an age to go into the net with Mitchell eventually finding WALTON whose looping shot dropped into the net. Within a minute BETTNEY scored a stylish TENTH looking up and sublimly lobbing the beligured keeper from just inside the Hunloke half after Silcock has played a pass to him. There was still time however for HIGGINBOTTOM to grab AFC's ONE HUNDRETH goal of this season, tapping in a Jez Mitchell cross in the 89th mnute, meaning a record breaking HOME win for AFC.
