New manager Phil Cartwright kept faith with the same 11 players that ground out a creditable draw last week for the long trek to Winster. Howling wind and constant drizzle welcomed Boythorpe to the Winster playing fields as Boythorpe pressed forward from the kick off. They created a couple of chances before leading scorer WRIGHT ran onto a through ball from Bonson before firing a shot across the keeper and into the far corner of the net. BROWN added a 2nd just 5 mins later from Boythorpes first corner, as P.Walton whipped in a smart cross that the skipper headed home. Winsters number 4 was unlucky to be cautioned just 2 mins later for a clumsy challenge in the middle of the park, as Boythorpe again pushed forward. Boythorpes THIRD arrived in the 20th minute as BONSON got around the Winster defence before cooly slotting the ball home.
Widerman held off the Winster back line on 23 mins as he added his name to the scoresheet. and 17 minutes of madness for the home side ended with WRIGHT notching his 22nd goal of the season, again latching onto a pass from the live wire Bonson, and although the keeper got something onto to ball, he was powerless to stop it crossing the line for Boythorpes FIFTH. Dean Brown found himself going into the referees note book as the official booked the visitors skipper for a high challenge. But BROWN got his own back six miutes later as he added Boythorpes SIXTH as the home sides defence was breached again. Visiting keeper Martin Potter had been a virtual spectator for most of the first half and spent most of the time keeping warm and focussed, as his back four mopped up all Winster had to offer. As the half drew to a close WHITEHEAD scored Boythorpes SEVENTH of the half and his first of the season as he headed home ANOTHER smart Paul Walton corner. HALF TIME Winster...0 Boythorpe...7
As the second half started it was obvious Winster had a mountain to climb and it was going to be damage limitation as Boythorpe now with a bit of a breeze behind them went in search of more goals and a potential record away score for the team. The record breaking EIGTH goal came on 57 minutes as WRIGHT got beyond the home defence and latched onto yet another through ball for his second hat trick of the season (both ironically against Winster). Winster to thier credit kept plugging away and thier reward (if only a consolation, and directly from a FOUL THROW that the official failed to notice) came on 70 mins, as the lively no7 put away his chance well.
The conditions were getting far worse by now, but the visitors still continued to play good attacking football on the deck and BROWN helped himself to HIS 2nd hat trick of the season (YES ALSO BOTH AGAINST WINSTER), as he picked up a loose ball midway in the home sides half before finding space by dribbling the ball past 3 Winster players and LASHING an unstopable shot past the keepers despairing dive. Record breaking goal number 10 arrived on 78 mins courtesy of BROWN again as the goal signalled a fantastic FOURTEEN GOALS shared by Lee Wright and skipper Dean Brown out of the TWENTY Boythorpe had smashed past Winster in the TWO league games this season. Shaun Goodwin however must consider himself the most unlucky player on the park as the keeper pulled off TWO fantastic saves as he tried to add his name to the growing list of scorers. FULL TIME Winster...1 Boythorpe....10 (TEN !!!).
