The battle for mid table supremacy took a turn in Warley’s favour as they produced a dominant second half performance to win against a Brandhall team with only 11 fit players. The first half ended 0-0 with both teams cancelling out each other and also hitting the woodwork. Coach Jones half time instructions was to continue working hard and laying the ball to both flanks in order to bypass the muddy central areas. The Warley boys then moved up a gear and started to dominate the possession. Seven minutes in the resillient Colts defence was breached after good work from Callum on the edge of the box found the advancing Dan W. who slotted the ball passed the keeper. Three minutes later and with Warley continuing to increase the intensity of play, Byron forced he’s way through, passed to Dan W who produced a deft touch to round the defender and place the ball in the net for Warley’s second and he’s fifteenth of the season in their colours. Brandhall Colts 0 Warley Boro 2. Brandhall continued to battle and 15 minutes from the end they were back in the game as a slick team move ended with a sublime shot past the stranded Colm. Brandhall Colts 1 Warley Boro 2. Warley continued to pass the ball to the flanks and wear down the tiring Colt fullbacks but it wasn’t until the last kick of the game that Warley secured the win. Anil won the ball in midfield Dan W. turned provider and the ever consistent Sam S. capped off a wonderful individual performance when he rippled the net from 8 yards.
