The Hammers run out of hope as Ventolin smash 7 in powerful display!
Ventolin continued their good start to the season with a stunning seven goal demolition against the Hopeful Hammers.
After last weeks hard fought victory with only 4 players and a man from the sidelines, Ventolin were back on form with the return of Joe Plass and Nick Mellor, both back after injuries and the inspired loan signing of Alex Termouth from Tuesday league champions CSK.
In what was expected to be a close encounter after the hammers surprised everyone last week by beating BIg BAlls, it was Ventolin who began brightly only to be caught on the break to fall behind to an early well taken goal from the lively Hammers striker. Moments later it could have been two but Dain cleared off the line and Keeley made several stops to keep Ventolin in the game.
Refusing to panic Ventolin continued to play their brand of passing football and it wasn't long before chances were being created, with Keeley, dain and termouth all going close before a quick piece of thinking from KEELEY, a quick corner found the un marked TERMOUTH who tapped the ball into the unguarded net.
Ventolin soon took the lead following more good team work, culminating in KEELEY finding TERMOUTH who scored his second of the night with a crisp drive past the hopeful keeper.
Ventolin were now in complete control with Dain and Plass outstanding at the back and providing the platform from which Keeley and Termouth could terrorise the hopeful defenders.. Termouth completed his debut hatrick after good work from Mellor allowed TERMOUTH to beat the keeper with another clinical finish. HT 3-1.
The second half started quickly and PLASS showed off his fine shooting skills with a powerful long range strike into the corner of the net, after being set free by TERMOUTH following a good one two. As if to demonstrate this was no fluke PLASS fired in a second fine strike to double his tally for the evening after more great team work which started with Dain bringing the ball out of defence, Mellor and Termouth combining before TERMOUTH found the killer ball to release PLASS who made no mistake with another fine strike.
Ventolin were now playing some of their best football of the campaign, looking like a tidy side, solid at the back and dangerous going forward. It was no surprise that the lively KEELEY, the teams leading scorer got himself onto the score sheet with another well taken goal. As the clock ticked down the hammers scored a well taken consolation goal after Ventolin were caught on the break. And then as the ref was about to call time J KEELEY in the Ventolin goal lofted a perfect pass into TERMOUTH who rounded off his man of the match performance with a clever lob over the on rushing keeper. 7-2 and game over.
Man of the match Alex Termouth was pleased with his debut and said it was a great game of football to be involved in. Ventolin can look forward to next weeks game against Big Balls with confidence.
