Headers, volleys, heels, own goals and wonder strikes cant separate teams in 10 goal thriller!

In what could go down as the game of the season, Ventolin Inhalers snatched an all important last gasp equaliser against rivals fat bald and son in the evenings most pulsating encounter. Ventolin were once again hit by injuries and player absence, meaning both the regular goalkeeper and striker were out of this crunch match.  Ventolin refused to let this dampen their spirits and started the game with a firm belief that a good performance would ensure a further victory.

Unfortunately while in parts ventolin again showed some lovely football, and showed great heart to come from behind four times, it was without doubt their poorest performance of the season, albeit against a side who are organised and included a new impressive striker who scored four times for the FBS.

Ventolins passing and basic ball control skills were at times poorly lacking, and unusually their was a distinct lack of organisation and several key mistakes by individuals which allowed FBS to score some very soft goals.

The first goal of the game came after dain and plass had contrived to give the ball away only to see the striker fire home ruthlessly from the edge of the box.

Fortunately the same two players soon made amends, after plass collected a good ball out wide from archdeacon, he flighted a superb ball to the far post where dain calmly volleyed home.

This seemed to inspire FBS who began to make more of the possession they were being given by the sloppy passing of the inhalers team, this time another move broke down with the ball being passed wide for the winger to collect, some 30 yards from goal, the inhalers keeper sprinted out of his goal to try and intercept it , fatally though he could not make the ground and stood helplessly as the winger fired the ball past him into the empty net.

With half time approaching the inhalers defence was breeched once more, this time some good football from FBS saw the impressive striker beat two players before rifling home. Half time 3-1 to FBS.

Ventolin started the second half in determined mood, creating early chances for Plass and Archdeacon.  From their next attack, Archdeacon won a corner.  Keeley stood over the ball and after some deliberation stroked the ball across goal, only to see it curve into the far corner.. a fluke, a moment of magic who knows? What was certain was it was now 3-2. It certainly put fire in the belly of the Inhalers who now sensed a chance to win the game.  As if to highlight the disjointedness of the Inhalers play, Dain collected the ball from the keeper, and attempted a cross field ball to Andy, only to see it intercepted by the now deadly striker who again fired home powerfully.   Ventolin were once more two goals behind, this time though it was Ventolin who struck back, after good work from Keeley and Plass, who released Andy who found himself a good 20 yeards from goal, taking a touch he crashed the ball past the keeper and into the back of the net. Ventolin were now on fire dain played in plass who struck his effort at the keeper, Archdeacon then had a chance to equalise only to see the keeper again deny him. The inhalers did then equalise and with some luck too, Dain recieved the ball in space, looking to flight a ball into the path of archdeacon, the last defender some how headed it past his own keeper, watching helplessly as it trickled over the line. 4-4. Keeley then had a great chance to make it 5-4 only to blast over from a distance he usually scores from. Ventolin were then hit with the classic sucker punch, a ball flighted into the ventolin box, was not gathered by the keeper and unluckily seemed to be bundled in by the chest of the striker, deflecting into the net.  5-4 FBS. With only moments remaining ventolin continued to press and after some good work from plass and andy, dain was played clear with his back to goal , seeing his effort saved, he hooked the ball away from the defender and played in plass who back heeled the ball past the keeper and into the roof of the net. 5-5 and with that the referee blew for time.  It really was the last kick of the game, and what a game.  Both sides played their part, as did mistakes, flukes and screamers.  As the fans left the arena they were heard talking glowingly of the inhalers spirit, something that will surely be put to the test in the final two games of what promises to be an exciting climax to a great season! After the game Plass and Dain were consoling each other over their very patchy performances tonight, while Archdeacon was ruing his lack of goals and his opta stats! The only way is up, still unbeaten and ready to go to the last. Once more will the mighty inhalers roar!
