Home league match played on 12 February 2012.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Despite the weather and recent ice, the pitch was in very good shape and the game was given the go ahead.
The game kicked off on time and the early exchanges indicated that the recent poor form from Stainton was going to put behind then, this was typified by the first goal on 6 mins, when a long range effort from Paul Jenkins, bounced awkwardly in front of the Dyversity goalkeeper allowing him only to parry the ball to the feet of Denny Alderson who rounded the stricken keeper and walked the ball across the line 1-0 Stainton.
2 minutes later a lovely trough ball to Lewis Tidy meant he was able to outrun the covering defender and fire the ball home from around 10 yards, 2-0 Stainton.
On 16 mins Stanton were in again this time a lovely ball through from Nathan Tidy allowed Lewis Tidy to again run clear and score from around 6 yards. 3-0 Stainton.
The frustration of diversity players became clear with a yellow card been given to their number 6 for dissent on 18 mins.
This frustration was further increased when on 28 minutes Stainton got goal number 4. A clearance down the right found Jenkins, who played a neat ball into Lewis Tidy whose shot from 18yards was tapped in by his brother Nathan, 4-0 Stainton.
More chances fell to Stainton, but they just couldn’t get a fifth goal until on 42 minutes a throw in for Dyversity level with the Stainton 18 yard box was cleared long up field by Nathan Tidy, for Lewis Tidy to pick up and run 30yards before shooting past the goalkeeper for his hat-trick. This seen the first half end with Stainton 5-0 to the good.
The second half started in a similar vein to the first with a few chances dropping to Stainton but it took until 53 minutes for them to make the breakthrough in the second half, with Anthony Bizwas heading home at the near post from a corner on the left. 6-0 Stainton.
Two substitutions from Stainton then looked to have an effect on the game, with the latter substitution of Andrew Corfield for Neil Mcloughlin allowing Dyverity to get on the score sheet. When the Dyversity striker run into the box ahead of McLoughlin, McLoughlin’s challenge was given as a foul and a penalty was awarded. Any replays of the incident would have clearly shown that McLoughlin got the ball. This led to a yellow card for Goalkeeper David Usher for arguing with the referee. With the spot kick being saved by Usher, the ball fell to the striker who scored at the second chance. 6-1 Stainton.
On 78 minutes Stainton got back to scoring with another goal by Lewis Tidy, after Denny Alderson’s shot was blocked the ball fell to Tidy who fired the ball home for his fourth goal of the game.
Stainton then wrapped things up with a goal in the 85th minute, when substitute, James Dee’s clearance down the left found its way to Paul Jenkins who run on to score. 8-1 Stainton was the final score.

Man of the Match was Stuart Murphy for a fine display of defending.

Mentions also for Paul Jenkins and Lewis Tidy who both also had outstanding games.
