Away league match played on 02 November 2014.
Kicked off at 2:00 PM

Thank goodness Dean wasn;t writing this report !....It would have been a Cert. 18 and XXXXX rated.....

It's half term...and the boys looked like they had been on the booze all night...too much trick & treat , fireworks parties or X box ?....I don't know....but it was a real horro show today !

The game was on a miniature pitch - and I would suggest too small for 9 a side. The benefit was not so much running for our boys....but the ability to play off side seemed quite pointless...half way to the edge of the box was only a few yards?!&£"*£&"!^!.....however, Tony took up the flag and Dean found himself redundant today!....

From the kick off - Starlands looked quite positive , showing signs of some nice passing upfront between Callum, Azza and Oskar...however this was not to last....

The starting line up was Ben , Marcus,Nick and Kieran - with Callum,Azza,Oskar,Josh and Luke. The subs to start with were Kai and Jed.

The first goal came from nowhere....as the Scholars forward entered the box a passing gust of breeze blew past and felled him in one foul swoop....some slight chaffing or grass burn did not prevent the player picking himself up...and before we knew it, the referee had awarded a PENALTY????!....to be fair...our Swiss linesman 'Tony' was in agreement with the Ref. Needless to say Dean will be stealing the flag back next week. lol. It did seem a little harsh in a game that had just started...

However, the penalty was awarded and The Ginga Ninja slotted home burying the shot into the back of the net 1-0

Starlands replied with Callum to Azza to Oskar , who played in Marcus but he was forced too wide.

Azza then played the ball to Oskar who hit the bar ! and Josh missed a sitter from yards out....That was a real chance gone begging - and could have changed the game.

Oskar took what can only be described as a BEAUTIFUL corner. ( i lie !....it is is poetic licence from his mother and she bullied me into using such flowery wording for a MANS game !)

Anyway from the beautiful corner resulted an ugly free for all scramble in the box - and Callum was there to slot home the equaliser. 1-1

Then a WOMDERFUL corner and Azza was stood waiting to head home but without his cuban heels the ball sailed agonisingly over his head ! So close !

The Ginga Ninja then stepped up to take his 2nd goal and make it 2-1 to the hosts.

Then a 3rd followed with a mix up between Marcus and Kieran - with Kieran bombing forward, all he was missing was the ball...and Scholars were through on goal. 3-1

Another ' superlative' from Monica beckons.... (a descriptive word ,also known as an adjective...not a powerful laxative) as Oskar took another corner !....and again Azza was in the right place but alas only to head just too high.

Next Scholars broke through the middle and the striker blasted wide...not content with the open goal being missed the cunning striker then took a dive....Did another penalty beckon?....not on your nelly...no defender in a mile,,,it must have been the long grass that felled him???....but whatever it was - the young lad hobbled off with firstly his ankle and then his knee causing him some distress. SOmehow he managed to get back on a bit later.....SPooky !....but it is Halloween weekend. :)

Luke then played to Azza to Oskar just too long and deflected wide...it should have been 3-2 when Josh missed from the corner.

Chasetown then broke, Kieran ended up on his bum and Ben was caught in two minds....and they tucked away their fourth goal. 4-1

Ben made ammends coming off his line twice in close succession and saving from the striker bearing down on goal one on one...much better....but too late to make any real difference.

HALF TIME

From their first break it was 5-1...Dean went for a coffeee.....Marcus went upfront... Kai and Jed came on...

Marcus blasted a cross come shot that went narrowly wide.....( Yes I did see it Dawn !)

It was then 6-1 with a blasted shot into the top corner. This then became 7-1 with another firmly hit shot come cross that snuck underneath the diving Ben....(SHould have and would normally have doen better. Sorry son !....got to be honest.)

8-1 another carbon copy break ....and the defence at 6's and 7's...whatever that means.

But wait,......a COME BACK???? a Penalty....but alas no. Marcus stepped up but hit it straight down the middle and the keeper saved. "Told you! ", said Dawn.... "Beautiful " said Monica...

8-2 then when Marcus made amends threading a ball through to Oskar who banged home the goal. Hooray !

There were some good performances from namely Nick ,Azza,Oskar,Callum today.,.... The others seemed to be away with the fairies....and half asleep...and Scholars thoroughly deserved the win.

Man of The Match was awarded to Luke....Dean will have to talk us through that one?.... Saying that Luke has put in some great performances this year...so maybe it was back dated!

Special mention must go to Nick for eating a roast dinner in the pub down the road before the game at his grans birthday lunch !,,,,and for Jed running around with no pants on again ! Jed Al Fresco to be known from hereon in.....and not doing himself an injury ! You gotta love these boys :) Characters galore.

Regardless of this,,,,, We managed to stay dry and none of us had anyone reverse into our car !....unlike some . lol..... Dean was just grateful it wasnt his new car !

See you all next week for more moments of joy, pain and heartbreak !.....p.s Dean apologises for forgetting to judge The spectators Halloween fancy dress contest !
