Starlands have a full squad this time after a 5 nil defeat with an 8 man squad previously.
Aran makes it just in time following a break down, no not him if his dad but the car they were travelling in.
Starlands kick off and they lose possession early and Huntington attack like harrier jets, 2 attempts and Ben K is called into action making excellent saves.
Oski takes a smack in the face after forcing a Starlands throw deep in the Huntington's half, a few minutes later he gets up, he's okay.
3 minutes in Huntington score! A Huntington player in glasses is off celebrating after a terrible deflection, Ben K stood no chance. NO!! the flag is up for off side & Rob who's playing 'line-o' is laughing as are the players, "should've gone to spec-savers!" they shout. Starlands saved from a good call and moan all you want little boy the ref ain't guna change his mind!!
10 minutes in Jed on Ben P off???
Starlands attack is cleared and Huntington counter, a sloppy ball from Aran hands it to Huntington who hit the post, it goes across the face of the goal and out for a goal kick, saved yet again.
Oski almost gets a foot to the ball as Starlands attack but it's collected by their keeper.
Starlands get a corner, Zack sends an excellent ball into the area, Huntington unable to clear, it's knocked to Josh who hits it, just wide!
13 minutes in and Ben comes out to stop the Huntington attack and takes their player out, foul given to Huntington. They play it into the Starlands area, Ben K comes off his line, gets a hand to it but it's kicked away from him. No call from the players, ref or lines man, eventually it goes out for a corner. Starlands clear it.
18 minutes in and a very poor clearance from Ben K leads to Huntington attacking and it's 1 nil to Huntington who have no trouble finding the back of the net.
From the centre kick Starlands attack and yet again Josh hits it just wide of the goal.
Starlands on the attack again and again Oski almost gets a foot to it but their goalie intercepts.
Both teams forcing off side calls close to the centre line with plenty of calls for off side and free kick's being awarded.
23 minutes in and from a Starlands throw by the Huntington area, Huntington attack, Ben K comes way out, off his line, the Huntington player goes around Ben K and belts it towards goal, Marcus is in pursuit but it's just out of his reach...2 nil Huntington!
Starlands attack again, Oski shoots but it goes just wide.
Starlands win a corner, Zack drives it into the box, Huntington clear it only as far as Marcus who plays it to Aran. Aran does a nice left foot, right foot ball control with skill, takes on a player, shoots, wide again!
When will Starlands score!
Ref blows the whistle for half time.
2nd half, Kieran on Zack off.
Huntington have kick off and attack hitting the post, Jed was there along side, putting the pressure on.
Oski hits it but it's saved. Kieran keeps a player on side and can't now keep up, he shoots, top of the net NO!!! Ben K gets his fingers to it and pushes it over the bar! A brilliant save! From a Huntington's corner Starlands attack and Aran smacks it but again it's just wide!
37 minutes Aran off Luke on.
Oski hits it, it's saved by the keeper but he doesn't keep hold of it, Luke almost gets to it to finish it but their keeper pounces on the ball.
Ben K is called into action yet again and makes two excellent saves!
50 minutes Jed off, Ben P on.
Huntington hit the ball but it's out, goal kick..? Rob's flag is pointing for a corner or is it??? The crowd shout goal kick, Rob sez, "I don't know I'm trying to warm me hands!"! we're convinced it was a goal kick but the ref gives a corner. placed just outside of the arc, the crowd shout, "it's not in the correct place!" The corner is dealt with and Starlands get a goal kick.
Starlands goal kick, played up the pitch, Ben P knocks it to Callum who shoots but it's way over.
55 minutes in Huntington cross the ball and they're given plenty of time to step back, prepare and take a shot, 3 nil :(
Huntington attack again after Starlands lose the ball following their centre kick and Ben K comes off his line yet again & makes an excellent save forcing it out for a corner.
The ball's placed just outside of the arc, again the crowd shout, "it's not in the correct place!" The corner is cleared for another corner, this time Rob places the ball for Huntington in the arc. The crowd are happy! They take an excellent corner, they shoot off the volley it hits the cross bar and it goes over! ( hey Rob, best stay away of helping out, they nearly scored again! )
It's starting to rain, my hands are now freezing....full time could not have come sooner!
Ric's MOM: Tom, stayed in his position and listened to Ric's instructions.
Parents MOM: Luke, had an excellent game when he came on.
Overall the team done well, just need to work on the finishing and closing the opposition down!
