Starlands 2 - Castle Vale 4
The Starting 9 were Ben(c) .Reece.kieran.aran.luke.callum.oskar.marcus.josh....and debutant Govind starting on the bench.
Castle Vale went 1-0 up rarly doors with a fiercely struck cross come shot parried up into the air by Ben and then headed into the net by the on rushing striker at the back post.
Aran once again playing well at centre back assisted by luke playing in an uncustomary left back role. But sticking to his task and using his strength to hold off the winger time after time. At one point making a lovely sliding tackle in his box and coming away with the ball.
Luke made a back pass with some force that ben was going to struggle to control and instinctively picked it up..indirect free kick awarded..all starlands turned their backs and the cross went across the line with noone getting on the end of it... finally being cleared.
A good half 1-0 down but not out of it.
Oskar was recovering from a nifty elbow to the gob....and Gorvind was making an energetic start.
The majority of the game had been Played in the middle of the park..no real chances...with ben acting as a sweeper and aran really covering well.
Callum was taken down in the box....penalty!... marcus duly stepped up and made it 1-1 slotting home into the bottom corner.
Starlands then took the lead with Gov passing thru to an overlapping Marcus whose first time shot flew into the corner 2-1!
The lead was not to last long with a Defensive error making it ...2-2njust by failing to clear the ball.
Then another ball into the box was Cleared by starlands..but the castle vale defender tried a speculative shot come hoof back into the box and it flew over bens head 3-2....unstoppable...David Beckham !..Charlie Adam eat your heart out.
Ben was off his line to clear on a couple of occasions clearing or blocking one on ones...problem is he's doing this so much I think he 's forgotten what his hands are for ?!?.....I blame Rob 😉
Callum nearly got a boot in the gob.😷free kick cleared..oskar shot but was saved.
A Cross was met with a header directed into the bottom corner despite a dive from Ben.
One castle vale player through on goal before WWF LUKE went shoulder to shoulder and knocked him over 😳...linesman shouts for foul..No play on waves the referee....the linesman goes mad !....lol...
Another lobbed goal makes it 4-2 ! .....I think Cuban heels for Ben next week?....Dean you got a pair ? 👞 or stilts ?....
A castle vale player went to ground after a ballet style leap challenging Aran for the ball. Their linesman Mr.irate again lept around waving his flag.. he was very excitable...but it wasnt a head injury so the referee played on !
1 minute later the player was up and about.... all well with the world.
Shame Mr.Irate wasnt so excitable and enthusiastic when they were behind....
Anyway, Castle Vale were the stronger, fitter team and on the balance of play deserved the victory.
Saying that Our boys came back from 1-0 down to take the lead and once again
Showed they can play football..and an exceptionally well taken 2nd goal by Marcus first time.
Lovely weather..played in a good spirit..a few goals...That'll do.

Man of The Match went to Luke for his efforts at left back.
Well done debutant.Gorvind aka The Governor plenty of running and a lovely pass to set up Marcus.
