Home cup match played on 20 September 2009.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

The game that the neutral would have loved. It had it all, goals, extra time penalties, bad decisions, bad defending and some really cracking goals. However it was to end in defeat when I should NEVER have been a defeat.

We started brightly and had a couple of half chances from Barry and Crap, however again we conceded against the run of play and not only did we go behind to one goal, we conceded another sloppy one straight after.

The defence was a mix of some really good play today and some simple mistakes being made to often. The two Nicks at full back were pinning their midfielders back for the last twenty minutes of the first half and that is the first time I have seen that in a long time. Army and Les were good in patches but to often a simple ball over was not being dealt with. However the midfield were not helping when they were continually losing there markers.

We came back into the game with a gem of a goal, good work by Chrispy, Nick H gave the ball to Crap who delivered a gem of a cross for Barry to nod in, a cracking team move.

The second was a bit of magic from our Dutch midfielder who chested, kneed a clearance and then dispatched it in the top corner. Half time on level terms.

The second half saw us start slowly, then burst into life with Crapper bundling over a corner from Army to put us deservedly in the lead. Minutes later Moi dispatched a free kick and the game was safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh no, from the kick off we conceded the softest goal, which was followed minutes later by another soft goal. I could not believe that we were pegged back level when we had so much of the ball and were so much in control.

Worst was to come, Jock pulled of an amazing point blank save from their striker as Jame were now starting to get on top of things. However he could not hold them at bay for long as we went behind to another soft goal and were now staring at a cup exit.

All hands went to the pump and the players were driving forward in search of the equaliser, it came when Gef's corner bound shot got a lucky deflection and took the game into extra time.

Extra time was a non entity other than two incidents. Meggsy was chopped down in the penalty for a clear penalty, and we got a free kick, then Nick T was a little brave solider when he headed a goal bound header out under some extreme pressure.

Extra time passed and the time had come to relay on players who can score from the penalty spot. Up stepped club captain Bazza the brick….SAVED. Next was hot shot Roberts…………………….Saved. Gef and Lilla did manage to convert however Jock was unable to stop any of their penalties and our fate was sealed defeat.

Man Of The Match.

A close one between the two Nicks and Crapper, Nick Harding got it though due to a brilliant first half performance that saw him releasing the ball at the right time and got forward well to support Chrispy.
