Greensleeves ran out 6-2 winners against Tryards, but in truth the score flattered them, as they struggled to assert their superiority.
They started well enough. Tryards were content to knock the ball around at the back, but Matt intercepted a stray pass and fed Josh, who fired home superbly to put the 'sleeves ahead early on. 1-0.
Greensleeves continued to put the Tryards defence under pressure, who had no intention of getting rid of the ball. Matt seized on another poor pass across the back four and slotted home. 2-0 and it should have been plain sailing from then on.
However, sloppiness crept into the side, as pass after pass was given away. Tryards pulled one back as a tame shot slid under Eddie. 2-1.
Tryards continued to put the pressure on in the spell leading up to half time. Eddie made a couple of good blocks to maintain the lead, as Greensleeves struggled to put attacks together.

There were no immediate signs of improvement in the second half, as Tryards continued to press.
Against the run of play Greensleeves extended their lead. Matt fed Josh again, who stepped inside with a cheeky stepover, and slammed an unerring finish into the roof of the net. 3-1.
Tryards did not give up. They came forward again. When their striker unleashed a shot from all of 20 yards most would have expected Eddie to deal with it. Unfortunately his attempt at a save resembled a man who was trying to catch a bowling ball without hurting himself, as it went straight through him and into the corner. 3-2.
Greensleeves still didn't improve, and to be fair to Eddie, he redeemed himself many times in the second half as he made some superb saves with his feet.
The next goal, and decisive strike came towards the end of the game. Sam battled for the ball in midfield, and it broke to Matt, who kept his shot down and into the corner as the keeper came rushing out. 4-2.
At last Greensleeves started to play some football. Dave flashed a shot wide, Sam had a shot blocked, and it didn't take long for the next goal to arrive.
The ball went out and Matt picked it up. Josh found space with a clever run to leave the Tryards defence napping, and Matt rolled it through to him to complete his hat-trick with another superb finish. 5-2.
It capped a strange performance from Josh, who had displayed absolutely lethal finishing ability, but had lacked his usual composure on the ball further back.
The sixth came on the counter-attack. Matt surged forward and squared for Dave, who finished well. 6-2.
There was still time for Greensleeves to waste another couple of presntable chances before the whistle as Tryards fell apart.
Full time arrived and it improvement is needed. Greensleeves need to sharpen up their act.
