We saw ourselves fall behind early to a good goal from Newington in the 4th minute but this didn't get to the boys as they got their heads up and went in search for the equiliser. This was always going to be a close game as it was end to end but in the 17th minute of the match that was about to change when an accidental head clash saw Reece Atkinson rushed away to hospital. He was replaced by Ryan McKittrick who went in to the left back position ( and would have the game of his life there) with Brandon McFerran switch back to his natural position at right back, Jack Patterson would rejoin Jordan Barkley in the heart of defence allowing Travis Jamison to go in to is favored place in central midfield. The defence were playing excellent and midfield was working very hard.
HALF TIME; 0 : 1
Things were about to get worse when 1 minute in to the second half we would loose Stuart Hannah who was having breathing difficulties, he was replaced by Joel Hill. The boys were still showing their metal as they kept battling for everything. Then came our third blow in the 52nd minute when we lost Ryan Hannah to a reoccurring back injury and he was unable to continue, he was replaced by Aaron Graham who finally got back to playing after being out all last season when he broke his leg in training. Jai Sykes would pull of a point blank save in the 56th minute when a corner came over and was met by the head of a Newington player but Jai was on hand to palm it over his crossbar. The boys kept playing right to the final whistle but just couldn't find that equiliser. Considering what went on tonight the boys kept their belief in themselves and were unfortunate not to come away with something for all the hard work they put in.

Managers Comments:
A very gritty performance tonight boys considering we were a few players missing and loosing Reece early in the match, then Stuart & Ryan. Everyone rallied together and worked hard. Well done boys so proud of you all. Special mention has to go to Young Ryan McKittrick who was threw in to left back and play as if he had played there for years.
